WRX vs. WS-6. Who wins?

WRX vs. WS-6. Who wins? I have a friend who is buying a 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX and he claims that it will out accelerate and out handle my WS-6 at the track. My WS-6 is pretty much stock it has a y-pipe and magnaflow exhaust. The WRX is bone stock. I know that the WRX has all wheel drive and handles well, but I was also under the impression that F-Bodies could hold their own also. What does everyone think??

what track are you going to where he will out handle...you don't really handle on the drag strip...he should beat you on a race track...but you *should* beat him at the drag strip...depends on what options are on the wrx...if it is the top of the line sti he may beat you in everything...but it will be a drivers race basically

I raced a slightly modded "top of the line" Sti last week and he jumped ahead about a car length from a roll but I caught him by the end of first and put space on him from there. You'll beat him drag racing period if its a wrx or an Sti but I think that his car being much lighter will handle a little better, although you'll probably still be able to beat him with the power difference.

A guy runs one of the STi's at my local track and runs 8.5's @82mph in the 1/8. His et comes from 1.7 60' times because its AWD. I ran him one night and he jumped me out of the hole but before I wound 1st gear out I had passed him. My mph is usualy 86 and I run 8.2's.
So, if you race past 1st gear you should reel him in from a dig. From a rol you should destroy him.

like cyphur and 777 said, it is a drivers race. Like many of these posts, If you cant drive and blow a shift, or spin your wheels hopelessly because you blew your load at the line, then I am sure your gramma could beat you in her wheel chair. and vice versa for the wrx. So just find out the real answer the only way you can. RACE. and good luck.

I have the same question as above. If it's a WRX, you will kill it. In the twisties it's a even game. If it's an STi, I hate to say it, but it will be close. Basically it's a drivers race between a stock vs. stock run in the 1/4. I have to say on a real track the STi would win. Of course it depends on what track blah blah blah.

There were no STI's in 2002. Therefore it is a WRX. I repeat he will kill the WRX if it is stock. My Grandma in a stock WS6 will beat the best driven 2002 WRX from a dig. A monkey drivng a WS6 will kill a stock WRX from a ROLL!! Damn.
If it were 2004 or 2005 STI it would be a drivers race stock for stock in a quarter mile.

people ask these "who would win" questions because there are alot of people on this forum, and a few people must have had a race like the one being asked about, so they ask to get feedback on how other members races have gone, so they know what to expect. That's why I asked it anyway. Is ram air, and a Magnaflow CB exhaust really worth 30rwhp?? that seems kind of high to me.
