Default White Cobra rematch...

I had a nice surprise this Friday when I got a call from Saleen09 saying he had more goodies on his Snake and was ready to play again. The last time we went it was a 5 to 6 car affair to my advantage with him having CAI, catback and street tires. This time he showed up with 3.2 pulley, tune, ported TB and plenum and new BFG's. My MT's are getting a bit ragged now with almost 8K miles on 'em. So, we BS for about an hour and then go off to play. We heat, stage up and the flagger sets us off. I launch @ 3K, slipping hard and she breaks loose a bit, making me feather while he gets a half car or so to 2nd. I hit a clean 2nd and stop his pull to 3rd, bark 3rd and drive by him to 4th. I get a good shift to 4th and pull a car and a half on him to the line. It was a great run and his car is plenty strong. The LS-1 Z-28 and the Golf GTi that flagged us lined up and went next. The GTi got a car on launch but the LS-1 ran him down and had 1 car at the big end. The Z was bone stock and the GTi was modded, pushing 22 PSI on stock turbo.

3.2 Pulley, Why bother? You should have steered him to the correct setup (2.93 at the very least) or are you trying to keep him slower than you.

His choice. The car is under warranty still and his 2.8 is hanging on the wall.

He already changed the pulley so he has already voided the warranty. They will look for any signs of the pulley being tampered with. He should have went with the lightning 2.93 pulley with the snout.

Hey also you stated you had the MT street tires and have 8,000 miles on them. What size are they? I take it you use them as a daily driver? If so how did you like them on the streets and also in rain? I am in need of a good tire but dont like the nitto 275/40/17 since they run quit a bit smaller.

I run the nitto 275/40 and like them OK. I just didnt get the M/T cause they are supposed to only last ~4K miles. **** my previous nittos only lasted about 6K miles. Its cool that you actually got 8K out of the M/Ts, what size are you running?

P275-ZR40/17's They aren't that cool in the rain. I had to pick up some rain tires. My Nitto's only lasted 1500 miles with the same power level. The MT's are much stickier IMO. They are starting to go away as the center tread is gone now but they're still sticky as hell. It's the only tire that completely eliminates wheelhop for me. I ordered another pair to replace these.

His warranty is long gone...on many different accounts.

Nice run.

How did they handle in hard corners?

When it's dry? They're as good as the Toyo T1-S's on the front, which are quite good, much better than the F1's. These are the new MT Radials I'm talking about.

And you where able to get 8,000 miles out of them? Do they look smaller then the fronts or are they the same in wideness? Have you tried the Nitto drag raidal?

They are a bit wider than the fronts and I had the 555 RII's, they sucked compared to these but they were better in the rain.
