Default Best roll speed

I'm sure this question has been answered, but I couldn't find it..
What is the best roll speed for racing. I have a 1999 TA WS6 6 Speed.. 3.42 gears

Thanks,

Here is my old dyno sheet M6 3.42

I would start a roll race from 4500 rpm if it is up to me what speed to start with. With an M6 I would try to force somebody in a high speed roll race, your 3rd gear where traction is not an issue anymore and most of the cars have not enough power left from an approx 60 mph roll to keep up with your 3rd gear pull.

Where your torque is the highest that's where I would start in whatever gear according to the speed.
Get your car dynoed well worth the approx 50$ then you will know where your torque peeks.
Then find out what is that speed in each gear.

1st off....roll on is a deoderant not a race, but most rolls are from 40 mph regardless.

Roll = ****

no. at 25 mph, you had better be in 1st, and at 65 you better be in 2nd.

look at that graph, you can be in 2nd at 25...but you rpms will be down low, at like 2500-300, or you can have it in first and have them be up at like 4500 where the car is making power. same thing when youre at 65.

my general rule for me is,
1st at a MAX i can take to 45...so if im at 40...ill drop it in 1st, but its a quick shift into 2nd so be ready.
2nd ill take to 75, same as before applies...if im at 70...ill drop it in 2nd no doubt, but be ready for a quick shift into 3rd.
3rd i used to take to around 95, but i moved to rev limiter so i can take it to 100.
4th will take you to 140 or so
and 5th will finish you off.

you need to go out one day, and take it real easy on the car and see where you can take each gear to. and get it dyno'd to see where its making power. theres no reason to spin the motor to the rev limiter is its not making power.

I perfer real racing(dig) myself. Which is why I am not sure about speed of roll races. But where I live there isn't much of anywhere to do dig races. We have to go out on the interstate and race.. Really can't do a dig on the interstate.. But we have before.. haha

with a 6 speed a roll from 40 is a very good place

ask the two neons that wanted a roll from 40 against me...
i got complete traction and jumped out in front of them so badly, and the ls1 up top just gets better and better

Damn you should be a mod, you're a pro... I got my answers no need to repost..

Also.. 40 is a real week spot for the neon. I haven't found it to be my strongest either, but good enough to beat high boost neons that are sprayin.

ive found that a 2nd gear drop from 60 is an awesome spot to get a jump from a roll, 30-35 in 1st is good too
