Z06s run 13s
Heard a little story about a Blk ZO6 in my hood that got called out by a slicked down, roll caged Small Block El Camino that runs 11.5s at the track.
The owner said he wasn't scared of any ZO6 "they run 13s" and this specific one he called out ran a 13.0 last time out.
Well they lined them up....and the Z stole the move after all it was on a stock radial..........by 1/2 track the El Co shut down, just wasn't gonna happen.
So after some debate, they lined up again.......this time even on the flag.
The El Co had 2 cars from the launch......by 1/2 track the Z motor'd right up next to it....then right passed it The El Co had way too much gear!

The street and track are 2 entirely different battle zones. And anything can happen( traction, stealing a move, slow reaction time)........even a 13 second car beating a 11 second car
I wonder if someone should have told him the Z ran a 12.20 at 120 on radials and makes 430 hp to the tire

Not to mention, I've yet to see a Z06 run in the 13's unless it had a ****-poor driver behind the wheel.
They normally run low 12's and occasionally very high 11's.

ive seen a zo6 with cai and cat-back and Dr run 13.3 all night, cause of high altitude and probly a bad driver. that same night Matt Monnet(has the record for fastest full interior stealt/3000gt ran 10.8 or something) ran his zr1 and managed a 13.2 i belive. so its probly the driver of the zo6, it was probly capable of high 12's with those mods.

i don't know from first hand experience, but from everything i've seen the z06's are a handful on street tires...i don't think that means you're "terrible" driver if you have a hard time running good times, i think it's more of you're a great driver if you can get it to run to it's potential........last summer i saw a guy at milan that had an 04 z06 that he ran a 12.9 with, he didn't even bother running it again it was so squirrely....

I heard everything turned out good for your claim......So I'm guessing a KB is in the works You have better luck than me!
For the rest....
This certain Z ran a 13.0 bone stock @ 3000+' DA .....The word spread like wild fire......next thing you know low 12 and high 11 second cars (at sea level) were talking major crap. And have been getting shut down since.
Little did they know The Z has found a set of AFRs, Comp cam and LG lts since the 13 second pass, and ran a 12.2 @ 120 on a shake down pass>>> on radials (not DRs)So how fast is the car..... really

So his 11second El Co got snapped off by a 13 second Z (2x), so in conclusion to this debate>>>>>>>>>>>>track times don't mean S#!t on the street...all that matters is who crosses the line first. After all I don't see any staging lights or trees, no burn out box or no rubber laid out for traction.
Yeah the Z went 13.o at LACR 3000'+ @ 110= 12.6@113 sea level. After heads, cam and headers went 13.o@115........letting off in 1,2 and 3rd.....rattling the half shafts every pass.........because of a shitty track.
No one knows how fast this car is at sea level....because those times have never been disclosed only 1 time mentioned (12.20@120 ) on a BS pass

P.S. I drove my previous full weight - cam only LS1 - to consistant low 11's on Nitto's, with 20 less hp ... not to mention the 300-400lb weight difference.
