02 WS6 takes out 05 GTO One of the guys in my local car club has an 05 GTO M6 that Ive been wanting to run. His name is Scott and his handle here is scottmraz. Well, we finally got a chance to run 'em. He is completely stock except for Nitto 555rII's on all four corners, My car has a lid and a catback.
The first time we went we stayed about even until I had to let off due to shitty roads
. We then went to another spot where the GTO lost the first race due to either being in the wrong gear or his trans wouldnt shift 
. We were finally able to get a good run in though, and it went like this 
: From the dig, he got a better start then I did and pulled a little on me from the start and it stayed that way all the way through first and half of second 
. The other half of second gear I was able to make myself even with him, and then, That sweet, sweet third gear! 
It felt much stronger than 2nd and I was able to pull past him! 
I shifted to 4th and kept my lead, then merged over to the right in front of him to get back to the right side of the road and take the turn coming up.
We pulled over after that exchanged compliments and he left with a fat
. This was definitely the closest race Ive had.

hmmm i don't know about that one, but anything can happen in a street race 
but a 05 gto runs your times, with the dr's it should be faster. and for you to put 1-1/2 cars (because you said you cut infront of him) on him he must not know how to drive. even if you granny shift the car, you can get mid to high 13's. some people are posting 12.6-12.9's with dr's.

this is a forum, if you post something, not all people will agree with what your are saying, with your mods or lack their of, putting a car on an 05 gto that takes you off the line is pretty hard considering the two cars run about the same as stated by your times.

This is totally believable....
The GTO dyno's 20 more rwhp, the TA weight about 250 lbs less....advantage TA.
Odds are this guy can drive his TA better than the other guy can drive his GTO.

What are the 05 GTOs trapping in the 1/4? My 02 WS6 ran 13.2s @ 107 mph bone stock which I think is fairly average for a good running LS1. I don't find it at all hard to believe a lid/catback LS1 could pull an 05 GTO unless they are a good deal quicker than I thought.
