Bencg racing: what's faster, A4, 3.23 LS1 or a 6-speed LT1? ME Im Faster..... I would say a 6speed since they can grab a lower gear then an auto depending on the Roll speed, The LT1 will hold off the Auto unless U guys go for top speed then the LS1 will come on around ( also depends on the mods done to each car)

When I first got my LS1 A4 with 3.23s, I ran my buddies bone stock '97 6 speed, and I didn't have any problem outrunning him, either from a dig or a roll. Both cars were completely stock.

LS1 no questions asked. Even from a dig you can mash the pedal and spin em pretty good and still catch up in a long race. Throw everything we've said out the window after mods begin.

I had a M-6 LT1 and I thought it was fast, Well until I went to the track.(14.2) 2 years later I traded it in on a A-4 LS1 and with a lid only went 13.4 with 3k on the clock it turned a 13.0. So hands down the LS1 will win.

If a stock LT1 could beat or even hang with a stock LS1 why would they have changed engines in 98? LS1>LT1 stock for stock and depending on mods the LS1 will almost always have the advantage

LS1 all the way. I have a 3.23 A4 and I raced a cammed LT1. He was pissed when I pulled on him. He was like...."man....there must be something wrong with my car." I told him there in nothing wrong with his car.....as my car was running 13.1@108 on street tires at the time with just a lid and headers(stocke exhaust still).

I had a 6sp 96 SS Camaro when the LS1 cars came out and it really amazed me how much quicker LS1s were. You might be able to hang with or even jump one off the line but after first gear it was usually over. If you catch an A4 LS1 from a roll you might be able to get a jump with a 6sp LT1 but the newer car will reel it in if both are stock.
