Default My Z06 Vs. a C6

Last monday I went out with my brother. I had my Z06 (mods in my sig) and he had my uncles '05 Vette (m6) Only 1000 miles has a corsa catback and dyno'd 334rwhp. We raced a few times but because it was July 4th and the roads were packed we only got two good runs in. One was rolling from second gear at around 40 to about 100-105. I beeped, and he left before the third beep, which gave him about a half car jump on me. I pulled instantly and hard, when we cut off around 100 I had about 4 car lengths on him and was still pulling. I was suprized by how hard my car pulled so we found an empty 2 lane road for a race from 0 to around 75-80. I beeped and we both left perfect launched pretty hard. When we cut off around 80 I had about 5 car lengths on him. Over all I was pretty impressed with how my car ran compared to his, we even switched a couple of times and the outcome was similar although we never got in very good runs with me in the C6. The car length estimates were done by him, I can't tell how may car lengths I've pulled by looking in my reaer view

There's actually 5 toys in the family, my Z06, My dad has an '04 blown and cammed 515rwhp vette, my uncles C6, my uncle also has a '93 Z-28 383 with a blower with 520rwhp and my other uncle has a '72 383 Vette with 375rwhp. I think it must be in our jeans

I was pretty unimpressed with those numbers but it did only have 300miles on it at the time it was dyno'd. It's still hasn't been tuned, but hopefully this fall he's putting a CAI and having it tuned so we'll se if it does any better with some miles on it.

I ran into a guy with a GTO and he said the LS2 doesn't give full timing advance until 2,500 miles. Supposedly it helps with engine break-in. Not sure if he was full of it or not, but maybe he was right. I'd expect a C6 to be in the 350 rwhp range.

I can't confirm anything, but I can tell you that I have driven 3 LS2's with less than 1000 miles and none of them impressed me. I've also heard that the LS2 responds very well to a tune..... I'm not sure, I guess we'll see

There may be some truth to that....334rwhp is definitely LOW for a C6....Nice kill, I flattened one a couple months back from a roll also. :

I've seen a few bone stock ones dyno at 335rwhp.. Uncorrected it was 355rwhp.. So that is about right with the amount of drivetrain loss..

That engine isn't close to being broken in yet, dyno it at 5K miles and there will be a noticeable improvment.

Thats what we're hoping for.

Me too, I don't mind getting beat by a superior car and it's always fun to see just how much of a difference there really is. I'm in no way bragging about beating a C6, I could tell the day I brought it home that it wasn't that impressive. I could tell just from sotp feel that it wasn't as fast as my Z06. I just have heard a lot of people talking on here about how they are supposed to compare. And I've had a lot of people tell me they should be equals. I wanted to see it for myself exactly how close they are. I wasn't trying to compare apples to apples, I like oranges better anyway
