Default 98 ss conv vs 04 mach 1

hey guys race an 04 mach 1 last week all stock and beat it at a rolling race and out of the hole as well,it was auto just like me wat do u think?

Not bad at all, but I think the auto Machs are kinda slow from the factory.. They have a different motor then the 5 speeds and they can't run as high rpm.. Good run though..

yeah the owner said himself the manuals are a bit faster but that he race his buddy 04 5 spd and lost less then w/ me that i pilled harder on him

the auto on the camaro will shift out earlier too, unless a guy driving a stick doesnt wanna take it out to 6000 or more rpm's

Not much of a FORD guy , but why would they have different engines?
Would'nt only the tranny or the gears be different!

The auto Mach 1s have a different crank and lower redline.

The auto Mach 1s aren't too shabby, but not as strong as a auto LS1.

I have a 5 speed and I try not to be a dick.......

Like it was said above the autos have a cast crank, and a lower RPM rang. The motor doesn't make as much power as a 5speed motor will. I don't know why Ford did that but I think it was dumb..

Auto Mach 1's get high 13's on average while auto ls1 f-body's mid to low 13's.

i read somewere auto mach1's run 14.1 and 5 spd run13.8.but then i read that a conv ss due to it weight should run like a 13.8 as well correct?i weighted my car at a truck stop w/ a full tank of gas and it was 3600lb exact
