Default Very quick STi.

I just got 300 miles on the rear end and hadn't really done a full run with it when this STi shows up, all the way from Salem OR. to run me. Figuring that's a good 6 hour drive, I thought I'd oblidge him. Our spot with the marked 1/4 was a bit warm so we went to the alternative. A good race from the tractor sign to the first telephone pole on the left, a tad over a 1/4 I think. Anyway, we get there and one of the ridealongs drives down the road to check things out. He comes back and we pull out to stage. I throw the switch for the Locker as I pull forward to heat, dump @ 4K and put about 4 seconds of heat on the Mickey's. We stage up, I rev to 3500 and we go. Damn! Revved too high for the gears (first hard launch with 'em) and have to feather a bit while the Scooby pulls two to 2nd, hit 2nd and the dancing starts (too late to back out now). She hooks about 3/4's of the way through 2nd and I hit 3rd with the STi holding his 3 car lead. I'm winding out 3rd and not pulling this guy a bit. I hit 4th and she starts to pull like a friggin' train. At the top of 4th I blow by him at least 20 MPH faster, just before we passed the pole. Damn he was quick! I've never had any problems running a Scooby down by 4th before. We cruised back to the spot and talked about the run. I reckon this guy was running WAY more than the 15 PSI he claimed and I know he was well modded. I gotta get some stickier rubber now.

Fourth with 4.10's is. If I still had the 3.55's in, he would've kicked my ***.

Do you know what mods he had? I assume intake, exhaust, and a tune. Quite possibly an upgraded turbo. Did he have a front mount intercooler?

3" turbo back, FMIC, Intake etc.. He was kinda elusive as to mods other than what was noticeable. Ya know, the catback that turned into a turbo back yada yada. Very clean, quick car and a formidible opponent. I expect him to come back as he's trying out the new "Perfect Power" stand alone system and going to tune with it.

He more than likely had an aftermarket turbo. About 90% of the time, when there's a front mount it means upgraded! I wonder what type it was.....
