Default 99 Mustang Cobra kill

His mods were catback and the biggest CAI I've ever seen. We went on the highway from 65-105 with me pulling about 2 cars. Does this seem right to you guys??

I would have expected more if you hit 120. Maybe it's cuz you are a 'vert? A4 or M6?

The CAI would probably make him loose HP from what I remember about the new age Cobras, unlike the Terminators.

Good kill though!

weren't the 99s the one's that put down as much rwhp as the regular Model Gt did?? Had a recall on the heads or something, IIRC...

You are nowhere close, try 245 stock. This is flywheel hp, so they are down almost 100rwhp from a stock LS1.

99/01 Cobras usually dyno in the 260-275 rwhp range. Unless they didnt get the "fix". But I cant imagine that there are any cars without it anymore.

If it was a large CAI I bet it was an Anderson Power-pipe. Usually a blower car thing, but works great for N/A as well.

You are not anywhere close to being somewhat correct.

They were rated 320 hp stock. hell the 93-95 Cobras had 240 hp and the 96-98 had 305. The 99"s put down around 270-275 rwhp.

Beating a 99 Cobra is like running against one of the "Special Olympic Kids" They are weak.

Thats kinda ignorant as Bob Cosby has ran 11.4's in his 350rwhp 99 Cobra In stock form yes we don't have the torque and hp. However it doesn't take alot to get us into the 12's w/ the right mods.

If that is the case I dont know what you reply when people post about beating WRXs and similar cars. His car runs well and it does not feel underpowered. I saw "the fix" sticker under his hood. His car only has 13k miles on it and it looks pretty sweet, red with 17'' black torque thrusts (the rear wheel is 10.5 in wide and wrapped in Nittos). We raced because we took a cruise with two 500+rwhp 03 Cobras...I think me vs him was the best race.

That clown is not even close whether its rwhp or flywheel. A guy on the corral with a 99 cobra w/ a K&N and flowmasters dynoed 275 rwhp.

yeah that's about ~320 at the crank. I guess ford overrates their engines.

My bad, unless he edited his title I could have sworn it said 94 cobra last night. It was late and maybe I was looking at it cross eyed. In that case being a 99, if it didn't have the recall fix it would be closer to 250-260 rwhp.

No. They rate them at 320 crank and many see around 270-275 ish at the tires. Looks like the numbers are right

The 99's had a TSB to fix the hp issues and most if not all were fixed. I had mine fixed right after I bought it back in the spring of 2000.

Well I'm sure he wasn't talking about a cobra like that. 350 rwhp N/A cobras are few and far between. I wonder how much money it took to make that measly 350 rwhp. Show me a 350 rwhp N/A 99 cobra and I'll show you a pot of gold.
