Default 99 WS6 vs. 05 M3??

Who would win the race. I have a 99 WS6 with a lid and K&N and my friend just ordered an 05 M3 with the competition package. Mines a 6 speed and the M3 will have the SMG gearbox. Who would win from a 60 mph roll?

I'd say it be a great race but the average LS1 F-Body traps higher in the 1/4 than the average M3. I think if you don't mess up your LS1 should pull slightly up top.

Does the 05 M3 still only have the 333hp engine?

Guess so:

From the MT article:

"The 333-horsepower Competition Package version feels like the M3 CSL after anger-management therapy. Test results confirm it's no faster than the regular M3 coupe; our 13.3-second quarter-mile and 66.6-mph slalom numbers are line ball with those we've pulled before."

Its got 333 hp and 262 tq. According to motors trend my cars curb weight is 2 pounds heavier than his. I think it should be pretty damn even but I think I will get him up top.

See, I would think you get him down low since you have more torque, yet weigh the same, plus I would think your power under the curve is probably better. I would think up top is where it would be closest but than again LS1's are known to pull pretty hard up top so who knows. I just know that generall speaking a stock E46 M3 vs a stock LS1 Fbod is anybody's race. Once his car's engine breaks in he might have the advantage since his car will be brand new. Just make sure yours is in peak condition

SMGs are viscious out of the hole. Good that you are racing from a roll. Should be close, but I think you should out mph him pretty easy.

If you look on BMW's website the curb weight on an m3 is 3415 I think your bird is a little heavier then just 2lbs. Its 0 to 60 time is 4.8, it also has 3:64 gear ratio, I raced a m3 in my firehawk with mods and could barely pull the stock m3. I dont mean to discourage you by any means but, m3 are beasts for being a 3.2L I6. It will probally be a good race.

M3's are only 3415? Well I guess our torque makes up for the difference
