I raced a friend of mine the other night, mines a intake, full exhaust and nitto drag radials 98 WS6 A4 and his is a brand new 04 or 05 WRX STI,

he had me off the line and was about 1 1/2 ahead of me and by the end I was starting to pull before the road ended.

Im having major problems with my car, I dont know if its from having 117,000 miles on it and just doesnt put out the power or what, but does this sound about right? should I have lost to a stock STi?

I guess it's about right. He got you out of the hole and you started catching up at the end.

A holeshot is tough to make up...por ejemplo, I raced a guy in a 2000 SS at the track one time. I was trapping 3 MPH higher than him, but he got me outta the hole, and never could catch him by the end of the quarter.

that sounds about right, a guy i know bought a 05 and swears up and down it will destroy my car and at the time i was running 13.2, so with intake exhaust and drag radails against a high 12/low 13 second car and you were right there, that sounds about right

It sounds right to me. If you go from a roll which 90 of street raciers do you will have the upper hand. From a dig I usually have them ahead of me about a car or so, then at about the 1/8th mile I blow past them like they are standing still and just wave to them. The look on the face is priceless. I was racing one the other night from a stop light,,,,,he is ahead of me and I am right behind him at the light. He guns it and just launches. I am right behind him and when he only put a car length on me from the launch I had this big smile on my face. He had a passenger and he was turned around looking at me narrating to the driver. It went something like this,,,,,GO JOHN(whatever the guys name is), YOU GOT HIM MAN, HE IS WAY BACK THERE. WAIT HE IS NOT WAAAAAY BACK THERE HE IS ABOUT A CAR BEHIND YOU, GUN IT MAN,,,,,,,OOOOH CRAP DUDE, HERE HE COMES. AS HIS HEAD TURNS FROM BEHIND TO EVEN THEN TO WATCHING ME BLOW BY HIM. Sounds right, when i was stock i had two races, i was stock 315/333 with stock tires M6 and had no traction, he got a car on me out of the hole and by 78-80 i was even and ran by him, by 120 i had 3 cars. Next race wa with the 18's i have now and just a lid, on the launch he only had 1/2 car, he was dumping at 5K and i had a great launch, by 40 I passed him and had about 4 cars by 100-105. The next day I ran a 12.89 @110 with the new tires, so your right on track with an A4.

It sucked cause the place we race at is a down hill road that has a dead end, I want to do a highway run, either from a dig or roll, but he doesnt want to cause he thinks I hooked the NOS back up even though I showed him its unhooked. I think hes just scared that Ill beat him and his winning streak will be over.

without nos on a highway u would own him, with the bottle on and a 150 shot it would be a joke.

From racing 1 sti and 4 evos, off digs i tell u they get me by like a full car to almost 1 1/2(me on hercules tires lol) then when i hit my 3rd gear i pass them,when i look at my gauges when im about to cross the line my speed is about 105-110 in 4th so its pretty acurate and have about 2 cars on them, we have the 1/4 mile marked here where i live and i beat 3 evos and 1 sti in my camaro. evos had exhasut, they where pretty much stock hehe.
