Default Who would win: 2001 Stang vs. My 01 WS6

I have a friend I work with, we are always bugging each other and getting bugged by co-workers who's car would win in a drag. My details for my TA are in my sig.

His Car:

2001 Mustang GT Convertible, Vortech 8LB Blower (Sometimes gets 10 PSI), Bassani X-Pipe and Bassani Catback, Steeda Shifter, 20 Inch rims. I think it would be me by a hair due to the weight difference...

We haven't gone yet. I have been for a ride in his, and he has been in mine. His car does pull freaking hard though.

Thx

I ran acrossed a guy with a similar setup in Sacramento. All I had was cat-back, lid and filter, i had dynoed 317 rwhp, and 335 rwtq. It was a freeway race, but he barely pulled on me. Im not sure how much boost he was running though. He said he had a built block, cams, heads, pretty much everything. I think he was running low boost though, like 8-10psi.

If he had what he said he did, he woulda walked all over you. Even at 8psi.

With his power he will rape you, the only way you do have a chance is from a dig and you hookin cause he aint going nowhere with 20s. I have 18s and nitto drs and it don't help at all.

Where would you get that its close? The only way I would think its close is if hes dumb enough to race with that kinda power and 20s... Do you know if hes got any other tire for that car?

The GT will have alittle under 400rwhp with them mod and 8psi let alone 10psi, with 10psi he will be over 400rwhp and hes lighter.

It still may be a hair under, regarless the weight. The power will account for alot.

Crack is wack! When it comes down to it, I'm guessing the GT will put out the victory.

How do your nittos work? I plan on putting 285s on 18s on my z.

400whp with just a blower? I didn't know blower would give him almost 200whp? Sounds a little bit too high man.

WS6 is making 350whp, I don't see GT making more than 350whp with blower and exhaust. Weight is about the same and GT has 20s, so I'd say that it's going to be a very close race, driver's race with WS6 having a little advantage.

the 20s will make it slow as hell...i saw a ws6 at the track with headers, not cats, catback and a tune running 14.0s because he had fuckign 20s on it.

They were ok when new, they will work better then any street tire but not much better. I suggest going with BFs or MTs, they hook better but don't last as long.

A stock 5spd GT with a s-sq trim and a shitty vortech tune can easly put down 370rwhp, the minor bolt-ons will add more power then it would on a N/A car, the gains are much high on FI. On a 5sp a good tune and minor bolt-ons can be around 400rwhp. Is his car intercooled? Like I said if its 8psi hes in the high 300s if it around 10psi don't be surprised if hes over 400. For xample, my GT is an auto with a full xhaust and a vortech tune I was only pushing 343rwhp on a stock shitty auto. After a tune upper intake tb/maf, bolt-ons I was 373, then a different tune I was at 383rwhp on a stock auto. That was probably one of the highes hp heard of from an auto with not many mods and stock trans. If no one believes me look at my cardomain page on the bottom there are dyno sheets. The 5spd will put out alittle more power, I have to get mine tuned again cause now it has a built motor different pulley(12-14psi) built trans (converter) and 75shot .... But my old set up with a stock trans was very quick I even suprised a few cammed ls1s....

BTW them dynos were with a walbro fuel pump (very bad for returnless fuel system), it was starving for fuel.
