Default Poor Mr LT1 Firebird/Trans Am

well tonight, as I was taking the gf home I stopped at Meijer's (Super market like walmart, kmart, etc) really quick, then headed over to get some gas incase because of the hurricane gas decides to go up tomorrow. A nice LT1 Trans Am/ Firebird rolls in behind me to get gas. I couldn't tell if it was a firebird or a trans am, but I was pretty sure it was LT1 powerded.

So I got gas and headed out the one way. he made the left turn on the highway right before I did, and caught up to him at the light. I pulled up besides him and waited for the light to turn. It turns and as I slowly start to roll out I didn't think he wanted to race, then I hear his exhaust roar and the tires start to burn, so I went WOT. My car quickly burnt the tires and shifted into 2nd gear (tuning issue that BH is fixing for me) and by 55mph he was starting to drop back from my front door, and by about 65mph I let off. I gave him a waive. I betcha he feels embarrassed that he couldn't outrun the 4300+lb Sedan

How the F*** is anybody supposed to know, unless they know you, what you drive?

You think that by saying this:

...that he couldn't outrun the 4300+lb Sedan...
...people are supposed to know it's what's in those pics? You could have just admitted you forgot.

BTW, nice set-up.

transams and the formulas have the v8, firebird doesn't the last I checked.

Nice setup! What year on the gm sedan?

So what, we see a LT1 with some headers/painted vc's in a boat and we're supposed to believe you beat a car with 40-50+hp and almost 1k lbs less???

More details are needed big buddy...

Yea i had the same question. The pictures arent working for me but if it is a buick roadmaster then its an lt1 just like the trans am you raced so assuimng your telling the truth and its a stock bolt-on motor then how are you gonna walk away from a car weighing much less than you? Not saying ti didnt happen but it just doesnt add up, that is unless you consider cam/heads/power adder a bolt-on since you have no sig for your car. Either way good kill and more info on your car!

so you don't believe me huh??? Ohh yee of little faith. I'm not sure how much a F-body weighs but my boat isn't that heavy.

last trip to the track w/ the 17s out front and the 15" steelies out back I weighed 4305 lbs w/ driver (I weigh around 190lbs). As I mentioned above due to a tuning issue the car short shifts right into 2nd gear even if I make a dead hook off the line, so that night I was manually shifting the car trying to get as close as possible to shift points. I'm also getting cat overtemp in all of 3rd gear, but here's my new best w/ my set of BFG DR I picked up from my friend. I'm sure there's more in the car once I get the bugs worked out.

My Mods:

I told you it was purely a bolt on car.
