Default Can't tell if it was supercharged or turbo, either way the mustang ate my exhaust!!!

I'm driving down the road around 12:00 am tonite, and I hear the sound of a 4v mustang about 300 yards ahead. I caught up to it, and it was a 96-98 cobra. We rode next to each other for about half of a mile, playing tag with the other cars on the road so we could be up front. When we were stopped he had the supercharger whistle, however, whenever he shifted gears, it sounded like a blow-off valve. Either way, he had his girlfriend in the car, and that made me want to kick his *** more. We come to a red lite, and trade some revs. It turned green, and I got the initial jump, and I pulled about 2 cars on the way up to 70mph. He turned off immediately, and I chuckled knowing that I just shrunk his ***** a good 2 inches

Doesn't make too much sense based on your 1/8th mile times posting in your sig. Then again, a race to 70mph...which isn't much of a race...is really about traction, not power.

Good kill. Some centrifugal superchargers have a blow off valve.

Out of all of my kills, it was my favorite!!! I'm basically stock, and it's just fun to beat a forced air induction v8

What's that supposed to mean? That's what stock 03' cobras run. A 98 with a supercharger isn't 390 hp.

Actually a 98 cobra with a supercharger can easily make 425~450rwhp..Much more and the motor cant take it..

He wasn't spinning, I had my top off and could hear. Just the normal chirp at the light, I was just pullin' harder. Even a 400hp mustang isn't gona take a 360hp vette.

It's possible. An LS1 Corvette weighs about 3150 lbs, whereas a 96-98 Cobra weighs about 3400 lbs. A 96-98 GT on the other hand weighs about 3200 lbs. So it's possible a 400 HP Mustang could take a 360 HP Vette.

I should set the record that I did have an 02' mustang gt. I like the cars, but I do feel that the ls1 has a better power curve and is making power longer. I think the 'vette would win :-P I am biased though

An 02 GT is not a 4V so it does not have any relevance to the race. However, good kill.

I was responding to what someone else said regarding the cobras weighing more than the vette, but the gt didn't. So I was saying 400hp in a 2v even though near the weight of the vette, doesn't have the same kind of power curve.
