A buddy of mine has a 5.0 Fox body with a Vortech S-Trim, AFR Heads, cam, and a few bolt-ons. Anyway, a kid at our school has a Z28 and says he will work my friend's fox. He has bolt-ons and DR's possibly cam or spray. Will the Z28 have any chance?? He also wanted to run for pinks which is pretty ricer!

If the 5.0 is that modded, better not race on the street unless he is POSITIVE that it will hook. I think if the mustang hooks, hes gonna win.

HMMM I'm not sure If I will hook,(probably need some ET Streets) but from what I hear he isn't the best driver so I think that should even it out some

What kind of power is the Mustang making? How much boost? AFR 165 or 185's? stock bottom end?

Lot of variables....it could be making 390rwhp or it could make block spliting power.(450rwhp+)

Both cars are manual. Sick5.0 is the owner of the Fox so he will answer those questions. The heads are the 185's.

Mustang probably has 450+ rwhp (I make 488 with inferior GT40 Irons) and the LS1 probably has about the same. I would give it to the Mustang. Blowers are infinitly easier to launch on the street. If your worried about hooking just go with a 28" tall slick, should solve your problems.

I've got the 185s and pushing about 12-13 lbs of boost. Edelbrock RPM II intake, and stock bottom. I'm thinking about around 500hp on my car mayb a little more. Getting it tuned next weekend so we will see how much she really makes.

Possibly cam or spray? You might want to find that out first. If it's a full bolt on LS1 with cam and spray, you might have your hands full. It sounds like the stang is a stout setup making a lot of power but a cam+spray LS1 could easily be 500 rwhp as well. And please don't race for pinks. Good luck and let us know the outcome.

oh yeah the race for the pinks thing is pretty but I've heard it sitting at a light and it sounds totally stock except for exhaust and little ****. Doesn't have a lopey sound like a cammed LS1 should. The kids an *** and needs a lesson in how to get beat, so I think I'll go ahead and give it to him. Then afterwards do a little with his cash

My car sounds nearly stock also, but isn't close. Most people don't have a clue I have heads and a cam. It only has a mild lope, but you'd have to listen VERY close to hear it. Stealth cams are pretty popular nowdays. Not saying he has one, but you never know.

Yea I would check out the z28, amke sure it isnt cammed and sprayed. If its just a bolt on z28 you will walk him bad so run him and shut him up, that is if your car isnt running bad since its not tuned. How rough does it run and when was the last time it was tuned? If it was never tuned prior to putting the heads, cam, and blower on id be careful racing, dont want to blow your engine. Good luck though and let us know how it turns out!

There's also a Jetta around my town that claims to have beaten LPE Vettes, Enzos, etc. Got to keep the rice population at bay. And about the money to afford these cars. We work alot

I just moved FROM Pembroke Pines and all the kids at my school drove nice cars. There were 2 auto ls1 Z28's and EVO, an STi and countless other brand new cars. Just sickens me when i see them, and their knowledge of vehicle craft and performance = 0

Ya my Dad does alright for himself. But, Jupiter is a pretty wealthy town. There are BMW's, Benz's, and all that **** at my school.
