Default Mods to beat an SS?

I was wondering what mods//horsepower in an a4 trans am take to beat my m6 ls1 borla catback camaro ss? Thanks

and what kinnda race...roll or dig? I beat my friends 00 ss with slp headers and exhaust, from a dig. With just a stall. I got a huge jump and he had to play catch up. If I was to run him from a roll I would have got smoked.

He's probably putting down in the neighborhood of 310-320 RWHP depending on the year of the car. You would probably need full boltons, stall and a small cam to match that with a auto.

I say just full bolt ons and a stall. You would take him in the quarter with that. From a roll, he would still beat you though. But, who cares...It's all about the quarter mile, right? This is assuming he is a good driver.

From a dig in the 1/4 all he needs is a catback, gears, the driver mod and some tires to take you. That's enough mods for a 13.0 pass. After the 1/4 though you'll pass him.

From a roll a full exhaust and a stall is necessary in my experience, as well as a few other bolt-ons plus some tuning, unless you can't drive.

This is assuming the LT1 has been recently tuned and hasn't been beat on.. as so many have been

full bolts on will give you a run for your money... Also A4 isn't slow... honestly stock for stock with the same gears an a4 will consistantly beat an M6. Sure there will be a few drivers who can drive the **** out of an M6 but maybe 5% of the owners can do that. So as far as i'm concern nothing against you... the a4 has a leg up on you. more drivetrain loss yes... but it's impossible to out shift... keeping close and using the difference in drive train can give the m6 a leg up but we are comparing ls1 vs Lt1.. again another endless debate.. however.. full bolt on will probably beat you if not give you a real good run for your money...

Tires tires TIRES!!!!!!!! Gears, LT's. You're gone

BTW....Like above, the A4 isn't bad, and is highly underrated. My stock A4 beat an M6 stock *97 Trans Am* by .200 in the 1/4 because he never got consistant times. More than 50% of people that drive cars like ours and have an M6 don't know how to "race" them like some of the die hard racing people in here.
