Default Olds vs Vette

On my way to a car show yesterday, I was cruzing along near Satsop Washington on Hi Way 12 and a 93 vette looms up in the rear view doing
about 65.
The guy gets up along side and checks out my custom and gives me the "thumbs up" and then points ahead and drops his thumb like he's shooting a gun.
and shrugs.....
I nod and he hits it right away....I'm a half a second behind him.
I'm hoping he's stock as I might have a chance.
My question is answered immediately. I start to pull him right away.
at 90, I've got two car lengths on him but that's where it starts to turn around.
At 105, he's reeling me in pretty fast.
We ran up to 120 and then I get the flashers. He's about a car
length ahead of me.
Nice race. Damn Vettes have a pretty low drag coefficent.
At speeds over 100, It's like I'm towing a trailer.

So it looks like I would have had him in the quarter but I guess I'm just pushing too much air to run at higher speeds.

actually i think it was signifigantly less than that by like 1000 lbs, stock i think they wiegh in at like 4300 and it says he has the ls1 transplanted in it which would save some weight, but then again i could be really wrong.

Nice ride, good death. I wonder what the drag of a fox compared to an F-body should be?? (I know i drag more just wonder by how much and if it matters that much)
