Their (JDM Nissan 3.5) factory reported ratings for HP are different, but I think they are really the same as the US VQ motor in terms of actual dynotested output. I'm not certain, but I believe so...

Fairlady Z is what they are called everywhere else except mainland US. Hell they call them Fairlady Z in Hawaii, and they sell G35 Coupes as Skylines.

Yes, Skylines DEFINITELY not to be confused with the Japanese Nissan Skyline GT-R, which ended production with the R34 model I heard...

It's actually been called that since the 70' 240Z. There's that name and you may also hear the term Z33. The Z32 were the 1990 to 1996 Twin Turbo models. It's like how you guys have the F-Bodies and stuff, that's all. Lot's of people put the Fairlady Z badge on the car in order to be correct. I like the way it looks with no emblems on the back. Hope I helped out somewhat

It's alright I can see how that is taken. Part of the reason on why I bought the badge but never put it on the car. It just means a lot to the car's history.

I'm curious... How can that be correct if the car was never sold on American soil as a Fairlady? The correct name for an American Z33 then is the 350Z. The JDM model would then be correctly called a Fairlady. Isn't that kind of fake? To have a 350Z (US spec, NOT JDM) and then call it something it's not, like Fairlday Z (JDM spec)? I personally think thats kind of lame. Trust me, I love 350Z's, but the only Nissan 350Z I'd ever give props to would be one that retains its factory badges, in spite of any other body work done.

If it came shipped from Japan and IS a Fairlady, then obviously only then it should have that badge. If it's US spec, then proudly display the name Nissan gave it, the 350Z. Isn't that how it should be? I say let Nissan do the naming.

exactly my point...its like taking a acura rsx type S and throwing a type R badge on it and trying to pass it off as a honda integra type r cause in japan they are still called integras and they still have a type R. if your car is a 350z..call it a 350z or a z33...it its right hand drive and lacks a vin because it was brought over from over seas...call is a fairlady or z33. and why are people ripping on the name? i'm sure people all over the world make fun of firebird...and think what is so impressive about a bird on fire.
