Default SRT-10 vs SVT Lightining

Well my dad had his first race since getting the SRT-10 Ram this morning, me and my buddy in his Lightining ambushed his ***! Mods are SRT is stock, Lightining has 12# pulley, K&N, and Flowmaster Catback. Waited for him outside his neighborhood when he left for work. We lined up from a 20 roll, my buddy honked and on 3 man that SRT took the **** off. It was sick, he ended up pulling like 6 trucks on my buddy by the time he let out. Now my friend is all butthurt about it but oh well congrats to my old man for the win!

umm he beat your friends lightly modded lighting . those trucks pack alot of hp but it weighs a **** load they dont run to well for the power or motor it has at the track. from what i have seen the lighting should take it with those mods any given day Is this an old lighting or a newer one?

the srt-10 does 13.1 in 1/4 stock..and handles better than most cars.. i believe it's .89 g's. it should stomp a lightning even a modded one.. the lightning isn't all that slim either

Oh yea and since when is a bone stock TRUCK on 22's running a low 13 not considered "running well at the track"?

The best I have seen an SRT-10 was like a 13.80 AT Houston Raceway park and got drug 3truck lengths by a lightning.Seen stock Lightnings run 13.50's .

It was a 20mph roll, traction was MUCH less of a factor. The SRT10 has better hp/weight ratio I would think, also, from a roll the T56 tranny vs the automatic of the lightning gave him a gearing advantage. I am not suprised.

Dude everyone has seen different things. I have seen the SRT's run 13.1's and on the other hand I watched my friends L go a 14.2 three times in a row. **** happens. I have seen my Camaro go a 12.6 backed up with a 13.1, **** happens.

This is another good point, the auto was at a deffinate disadvantage from that roll. Say they go from a dig it may be a different story...

Working at a ford dealership, I had the chance to see/drive a pullied/chipped 02 Lightning. It was nice, it felt almost EXACTLY like my old 95 LT1 Trans Am. On the other hand, a sales 360 team came through and had a SRT10 and at 50 mph he could ROAST the tires...must give much respect. We never ran the two, sadly b/c the GSM's son blew the motor in our 02 by over-revving it as the chip disabled the rev-limiter. It was replaced and he was fired (GSM)

the srt-10 does 13.1 in 1/4 stock..and
Ive seen misprints in articles and then the editors coming out saying that truck can run a high 12. Think about it its a 500 hp viper motor.

Sorry Im not beleiving that the SRT10 can run low 13s stock no way.. a stock lightning will kill a heavy SRT10 yea it has 500HP but its like driving a motorhome with 500HP its not gonna get moving that quick compared to a lightning its like 500 army ants trying to carry a hippo just not enough

It's pretty sick but I don't know about twelves. I drove it last night and I dont think it gets enough traction for twelves. And last time I checked they dont sell a 22 inch slick or drag radial.

well tex i havent seen one run in the 1/4 i only have the 1/8 tracks around here and his numbers didnt impress me with 500 hp it didnt even break the 8s and yes that truck is heavy as hell . so go ahead and make an excuse of driver error or track sucked or humidity or if it was a 1/4 becouse .i believe what i see not what someone tells me once again dodge the great comes up with 22s with a 500 hp motor in a big truck

Man.......your a f*cking idiot. By your damn logic a crx is the fastest thing on the street! "Yea I know a LS1 F-body makes over 300 hp but a crx weighs half as much so it will win!" Dumb.
