Last week I was cruising to Sacramento with my 14yo and we were doing 80mph when this silver Subaru STI thinks he's gonna fly by me. I decided to go to 4th but could have gone to third but didn't. The guy makes it just past the nose of my goat with a smile on his face when I get into my optimum cam range and I start pullin' hard and walk away from him. What was so funny was my kid was waving bye bye to him as we pulled past him and his jaw just dropped! I laughed so hard and he gave me a thumbs up and big smile when I slowed down and he went past.

At the time I had 350 rwhp and 336 rwtq. Just got it tuned with a cai and now it's 379 rwhp and 366 rwtq.

Looking to kill a C6 now

I get attempted races all the time from people when I'm just driving normal.

Example....Sat night...minding my own business at a red light. New tiburon next to me (of course I don't even consider running it) he throws no revs..says nothing...then mashes the gas on a green (tires chirpin' like a ****). So I mossie on up to the next red where he procedes to tell me how bad he killed my slow car

So, I guess the point I am trying to make is....are you sure he just wasn't driving??? (and FYI you should have spanked him from an 80+ roll)

I'm sure he wasn't trying to pass me....he was trying to race. The smile at me when he thought he was going to blow by me said it all. Like I said, I didn't down shift into third but 4th. 3rd takes me to 100mph and 4th to 142mph. I decided to use 4thy which allowed me to satisfactorily and decidedly walk away from him...proving the GTO was quicker. Now I have 29rwhp more so the results should be much better.

the 29hp helps....but the awd is a KILLER above 80

anyone trying to race you from an 80+roll in their sti doesn't know their car very well

stock-relatively stock the sti is only good outta the hole in a str8 line race, too much power loss up top...not to mention the car is ALL low gearing (4th is not even 1:1).

....now if ya wanna talk auto-x...thats a diff. story

Oh...btw...i think you meant faster....not quicker...'cause i'm pretty sure the sti's 4.8 0-60 is quicker

Did this guy have any mods? I've been interested in running a goat, but haven't had run into me yet. I really want to see how fast they are. Those and cobras are a rare run in right about now. I usually only see them at the track, but I haven't been there this year yet. I plan on heading up next weekend or something soon. Damn New England. Ohhhh and nice kill......didn't want to sound like some troll.

Just ordered my new FAST intake so we'll see where the 379 rwhp and 366tq go now. That ought to more than compensate for my 500 pounds more than a C6 . I'll keep you posted.
