355 or 373?
A few months ago I destoryed my 2000 WS-6. (RIP) I fliped it over! Don't ever race with out DRAG RADIALS is the best advise I can give. My mods on it where SLP lid, K&N filter, headers, exaust. I will still working on it. Unfortunatly I spun out hit a side walk and fliped over. But I just reciently bought a 88 5.0 of an elderly man all stock and very low miles. Thats my new project. But I been debating on what gear ratio I should go. I need the car for street use. My set up is gonna be 331 stroker, heads, cam, intake, bolt on's. No Supercharger or Turbo. I'm gonna see how much I can get out of the block all motor and maybe I might put NOS on it. Stil thinking of it. Butif some one can give me some advise on whats the best gear ratio to with that would be great. I don't want 410 thats for sure. I want either 355 or 373. What would be your opinion????? Thanks!!

3.73 is not going to be enough gear on a 331. 331s are made to rev which means they like getting up in the RPMS. You will be crossing the traps at RPMs which you will not want to. 4.10s at least if you are staying N/A with the 331...

I love my 4.10's. THey are awesome, if you get 3.55's or 3.73's, there is no big difference, get some 4.10's. I have cruise at 70mph doing about 2700 rpm in OD. I get 20mpg on the highway with my mods in sig. That is good enough for me. I love my 4.10's

4.10's at 100mph in 1:1 are about 5500 rpm or so. in OD, im not really sure. But my motor is supposed to pull to 6200 or so and is safe at 7K, so im not worried, i dont cruise at 100 anyways. get a gear calculator online yahoo: "gear speed calulator" should do it. 2.95WC(3.35NWC) 1.94/1.34/1:1/.63(wc) .68 nwc those are a T5 gear ratio's

my 302 loves to rev, below 3500 its not very lively, above that, it goes crazy, breaks loose the tires starting at about 5K in 1st from a slow roll. Really fun power curve, very different from my old LT1 TA. GET 4.10's!!!
