my t/a ws6 vs. f430 Ferrari Last night i was coming home from soccer and saw an older guy, probably businessman, driving a f430 ferrari. It was late so there werent to many cars on the highway by where I live. He was ahead of me so I caught back up to him slowly and innocently. After getting neck and neck, he motioned, and we went. I jumped to an early lead and started to pull away. He started to disappear in the rear view mirror as I started to celebrate. Then, there is a loud "wooosh" and he goes flying by me...He slowed down to let me catch up when it clicked, he was just having fun with me! We later found each other at a stop light and I told him how I thought I was beating him and we both laughed it off and just had fun driving home.

lol nice race, havent got a chance to race any euro supercars yet, besides a 
Cayenne Turbo which was dead even with me from 50-120mph when we let off (my car was stock back then). That made me feel pretty shitty when some 50 year old dude in his family SUV kept up with my "american muscle" or whatever you want to call an LS1

500hp is pretty easy to get with heads cam combo. Plus if I'm not mistaken the only ferrari that makes it into the 11s is the enzo but it makes it way in. I don't actually know thats a fact but last time I read about them they had about four different ones being tested(motor trend) and the only one that made it into the 11s was the enzo. If I had heads and cam and couldn't get 11s I'd be pissed.
Just looked it up, my mistake, F430 tested at 11.7@122.8 and the Enzo at 11.0@133.9. I think its doable with heads cam, hell I want 10s once I'm heads cam.

Motortrend got a 11.4 out of the the F430 in it's comparo with the ford GT. there is a certain sequence of button presses or some such thing (up up down down left right left right B A start?) that you can do to enable "drag launch mode" on the F430. Apparently it was put in specifically for situations like the comparison with the GT and for reviews, etc. They dont' advertise it, and I doubt it's in the manual. I've got the magazine at work, i'll check it tomorrow. I forget what the trap speed was.
11.4 on street tires isn't too shabby.
