E55 AMG puts up a fight.... washed the car this morning and figured Id go for a ride on PCH. I was headed towards Malibu, nice day 70 and sunny, caught a light in the center of town and a beautiful black 2004-05 E55 AMG pulls along side. I lower the window compliment him on his car he does the same and ask if "thats the S/C one" I said it was, he asked if I wanted to give him a run. It was early and there wasnt any holiday traffic so, I said sure.
Light changes to green, I had a bit of tire spin he pulls 3/4 of a car length and stays there till half way through second, around 3K the car comes alive and starts pulling, hit third and by 4000-4500RPM and 80mph I had a car and a half on him, I brake check it and start slowing down he paces and flags me to pull over. I do, we talk about 30 minutes. His name was Zach and he has a TV show called "less than perfect" guy knew his stuff when it came to cars.
cool guy, good race. Just wanted to share.

Well I guess it did, lol. Those things aren't a joke even in stock form. I've seen more than one go high 11's/low 12's with nothing more than a DR.

just checked the Benz website. 469/512 a bit heavy 4100Lbs. 12.40@116 1/4 damn they are fast....
car when 11.54@126 at palmdale ca on the 30th of Sept.

I was about to say I expected you to pull more then I saw how short of a race it was, the fact that you spun a little, and the distance you made/pulled by 80mph.
Sounds about right for the distance you would have pulled had you been able to race a full 1/4
