Got some 4.6
Well I was on my way up to the auto parts store to order my e-brake cable finally and got lucky enough to have a mustang GT get behind me. Had the girlfriend in the car just cruising, and the stang is kinda tailgating me but not in a ******* manner so me being in a great mood looking for some fun I drop it to about 3rd and let the engine rev a little so he can hear I’m game. I pass that car in front of us and slow down a bit so he can catch up as there is no one in front of us then. He follows me. Then we come to a light that is green and I have to make a right so I then put it in second and do the whole a little sideways around the turn thing then wait for him to get on my bumper again. After lining up I see him get on it were I then red line it every gear till about 4th?? Were he is a 1-1 ½ foot ball field away. I slow down due to traffic that I’m coming up on. We pull into the plaza the auto parts store is at and talk him and his girlfriend in the car (witch she complemented me on my car) and the guy told me that my turn was sick looking and said how fast it was. He then asked what my car had done to it and then complemented me on the win. All in all he was a very cool guy must have been in his teens like me, definitely a good guy that was into cars. I was surprised as he had some knowledge about my car. Was a good time, all in fun.

Mods are flowmaster exhaust, cai, 160 stat, and a new clutch went 13.9 at 102 on bald tires and a really hot humid night. I really couldn’t tell you what year it was all I know is that it sounded nice, was a gt, Black, and was a stick. Ya I beat him pretty bad, At first I thought he wasn’t racing then when he pulled in to talk I confirmed it with him.

96-97 turds had 215hp and 98 had 225hp. With a stick car and some fast shifting you could squeeze out a 14.6. Only reason I say that time is that my buddy did it when his was completely stock (98 model) on a decent weathered night. So a half a second is alot of space. A football field? Could be. -Mark

Nice kill. I had a kill on a 97 mustang gt a little while back. Car was bone stock except for flowmasters, kid was with his gf, and the car was an auto. Long story short I was on my cell phone so wasnt gonna race, kid stayed next to me on open 2-lane road and kept bucking his car next to me (slamming gas then slamming breaks). Finally threw down my phone, downshifted, and took off from them like they werent moving. I was surprised at how slow his car was and didnt think he was racing until we got to a light and we talked. Are the 96-98 gts slower than the 99-04 mustang gts? Only reason I ask is I was in my buddies brothers 99 mustang gt vert auto and it was sooooooooo slow, i couldnt believe it, I def thought it was gonna be faster.

the 96-98 GT's are mid 14's with an insane driver and a freak car and most commonly 15.0 or thereabouts. The 99-04 GT's are 13.7 with an insane driver and a good car and most commonly 13.9-14.2 (all assuming 5-speeds, add .3-.5 for the A4). So yes, if you only pull 13.9 @ 102 there is no way you would pull "football fields" on a 99-04. I raced a 99-04 from 80mph when I had my LT1 and i admit, I was only in 3rd gear and had 2.73's and she had downshifted and punched the crap out of the vert gt while i was loafing at about 3200, she BARELY pulled me, so yeah, hardtop and me trying, prolly would have been me by a small margin. But no...no footballfields with a semi-stock LT1 vs. a 5-speed 99-04.

My words are being taken to literal. I said a foot ball FIELD as an approximation of how badly I stomped him. Doesn’t matter the distance or the year of his car or his horsepower to me, I beat him. I should have been more conservative with like a foot or too then maybe I wouldn’t have gotten as mush **** that i beat a 4.6 by a large landmass.
