Raced a 00 S/C Saleen sat. night
It was a sharp red Saleen Mustang and it was pretty much like you would buy it- no mods except a K&N with the silencer still in place (until I removed it for him afterwards ). We did a second gear pass on the interstate at about 45 or so and as usual I let him have the hit. I popped it pretty quick when I heard him and we were pretty much dead even until about halfway through drive and I edged him by about a half a fender so it was real close . "Doesnt matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winnin's winnin" lol!

I'm not kidding... they are that slow. Saw it with my own two eyes.
I thought it was possibly just the driver, but he was consistently beating my 60' times. I test drove a s/c Saleen S281 also and couldn't believe how slow it was.
Such an overpriced car, it's amazing.

MM&FF got 12.7s on slicks and 12.9s on street tires out of one in the 1/2002 issue. It was just like the one I ran against except 2 years newer and silver. It was concerning with me being an A4 and from a roll but I manually shifted down to 2nd and when I nailed it I shifted it back into drive so it could shift on its own at 6k RPMs.

I have never seen one race at a track personally but I have a crap load of mustang mags at the house so I did a little research because I was interested in how fast they were supposed to be. I have a bunch of 03/04 Cobra buddies and 2 of em went 12.7s on the stock radials before they started moddin em. I figured the Saleens realisticaly run low 13s at best so its not too far off.
Dont worry about that rear end just yet, that A4 softens the punch alittle and have a buddy that works with me that has been 7.2s in the 1/8 on the 10 bolt with his A4 car.
