Killed H\C\I 5.0 vert
My mods below.
His mods - Edelbrock heads, Lunati cam, Trick flow street heat intake, headers, speed density, SPec clutch, tremec, 373's.
1st race. Standing start, no burn outs. He spins in first, I lift a bit to even odds, back into it, I pull away 3rd and 4th. He says he missed 4th...
2nd race. From 20mph roll, he gets break, I pull 3-4 cars through 3rd and 4th.
I was pleasently urprised how quick the car is basically stock. I think she should go 12's first time out.
Felt weird killing a mustang after owning a couple of them...lol...

I'd imagine he is about the same weight if not more than you. His mods could put him at 270 rwhp or as much as 315 if tuned right. You obviously have as much or a good bit more than him stock. Good kill.

He must have been untuned IMHO. If so, speed density KILLED HIM, I had to swap to the A9L ECU or my car ran like *** and smoked a LOT. His mods would put him in the 300+ rwhp range. Also, his gears could have held him back some, 4.10's are a minimum depending on cam imho. With my mods the company (CCM) who built my motor dynoed a car with my combo at 290/290 at the tires (running through factory exhaust and w/accessories). They say mycar should be high 12's, low 13's. I have yet to line up against an LS1 in a true race (had one do a ricer fly-by and i chased, but it was 60-100 and i put it in 4th gear like i did against an S2000 one time and that was a MISTAKE (can hold 3rd till 80) HE started out from 1.5 cars back, i waited nailed 4th (mistake, was still new to the combo) when we were dead even, he pulled about 4-5 cars 60-100mph. He was A4 vert Z28 02(?)

PS. You can run an untuned A9P/L with anything but FI on the 89-93 5.0s due to the adaptiveness of the software, wont be PERFECT, but mine runs very well. Prolly get another 10-15rwhp out of a tune, but not enough to matter, driveability is fine too.

That is the only thing I missed about my Mustang. With that A9L no matter what I did the computer would learn from it and I wouldn't have to do anything. When I did tune it I only picked up 10 RWHP.
With my F-Body, its like everything I do something I have to get it tuned. But when my almost stock FBody is almost as fast and my H/C/I Fox, then I don't really bi**h about much.

Yeah I have to agree....The A9L and the complete EEC-IV system on the foxes where wonderful...(wish my WS6 was so easily adapted)...I done things with a stock A9L that i would have never thought i would have done..it was not until i put 50# injectors and a windsor in my car that i finally had to go to a more tuneable DFI...Stanger88 how do like that X303 cam....Its been YEARS since ive dealed with one..and back then I never could seem to get alot out of it The mustang in sig has ran a best of 9.62 with the current setup, but i went 10.34 on a A9L and a supercharged 306..

with my heads the X303 offers a little lesss down low than stock, above 3500rpm its a freak, and at about 4800-5200 (if i gun it from a 1500rpm roll) it overpowers the 245/60/15's and spins madly, 1-2 shift = about 20" wheel sping. Basically, keep it above 3500 and you love it. Ran an S2000 from 55-95 in 4th gear (about 3500rpm i think at 55mph) and pulled him by about a car, so its not DEAD down low, jsut not that awesome. I am happy with it, but then again, i never tried another cam. Power is VERY peaky, not like my former LT1 at all.

89-93 was A9L and A9P
a9p was the auto (AOD=crap) transmission chip and offered slightly more agressive timing increases than the a9l. Both can be used interchangeably as the AOD was hydrolic and not ecu controlled, BUT, the A9L should NOT be just plugged up in an automatic car due to a discrepency in the voltages put out via the wiring harness (consult a wiring diagram before installing in a previously auto fox.)
