I had the same question when I had those same mods. I gave him the hit from a roll and still pulled on him. Never raced off the line but when we went to the track on the 1/8 I was about .8- 1 second faster than his fastest time slip. The same car was used w/ different drivers.

Ex SRT owner here....
You should easily have him out of the hole and from a roll...... in fact you can spin horribly still reel him in and beat him.
From a roll they have a better chance.... but you should still be able to beat him, and overcome any handicap that racing an automatic from a roll may have.....
I raced one LS1 car in My SRT4 and that was at the track... I beat him bad out of the hole, all the way to the 60ft mark.... then I was schooled in the difference between 14secs and 13secs.......

The wierd thing is, the srt4's think they can win for some odd reason. They are good ,quick little cars for what they are, and they have the factory backin them up w/ go fast parts. But, stock neon srt4's will get beat badly, roll or dig by an LS1. They are mis-informed due to the fact that so many domestic ricers have hyped the srt4 up so much, the owners think they can beat anyone. bang for the buck they are doing well, but fact is they run low 14's stock, nowhere near Ls1 times.

^^it would take a damn near perfect run w/ a pro driver to run even a 13.9 in a bone stock srt4. We have a huge srt4 following here in the town I live in. I go to the track almost every thursday and the best I have seen from a stock one is 14.1xx @ 97mph. I know it could be done, but ya gotta think: most of the people who own/run these srt4's are just kids or young adults w/ very little driving experience let along track time. I have respect for them because they are domestic and quick for what they are.

The altitude really hurts the N/A cars here so stock LS1s are good for only high 13s. From a roll the stock LS1s still have a slight edge here. Talk to some of the Denver and Albequerque(sp?) folks and they'll tell you that LS1s are 14s cars there stock. I don't know where this race will occur, but unless it involves higher DAs, the LS1 will win even with some mistakes.

You will kill him. I raced an SRT4 last weekend and I beat him. From a roll or from a dig. I always won. He had an intake, bov, wastegate, and some other crap. It wasnt that slow though, but it also wasnt stock.
After the race he told me "I raced a camaro a couple weeks ago and I killed it. But you just kept on pulling and pulling... what do you have in it?" I told him I have a K&N Filter, and a cutout. hahaha.

My friend matt has a 01' z28 a4, with a lid and a loudmouth. My other friend Stephen has a 04 srt with stage 2, a 3" b&b turboback exhaust, an aem intake and a nitrous express kit pilled for a 50 shot at the time. Stephen went a best on 13.89@102 (i ran 13.5@104 in his car the same day). The z28 has never seen the track. On the freeway from a 55-120 it was about 4 cars, the srt4 wasn't spraying. 55-120 again with the srt4 on the juice, the srt inched off less than a half of a car. From a stop, the neon spraying. The z28 won by about 8-9 cars.
In short, you'll smoke him pretty bad...
