Default Evo vs WS6

First off let me put my flame suit on cuz I know there will be some haters

Ok, im on the way to our local hangout spot so im just cruising on the freeway about 70 mph. I see some lights coming up pretty quick, as they passed it was a TA racing a Turbo diesel truck, so I was like what the hell, I'll join in So I speed up and pass the truck by that time they had let off a bit. I pull up to the TA and notice its a WS6, at this point im kinda nervous since I havent raced one yet. Once I get next to him he looks over and floors it, so I was like ****...I downshift to 4th and take off, once at about 140 or so I started gaining on him and as I got to his rear bumper he hits his brakes. I was like wtf?? He then cuts across 3 lanes and goes from my right side to my left side. I hear him downshift so I downshift to 3rd, we punch it at about the same time and I start to creep away from him. By the time I hit mid 5th I had maybe 3 cars or so on him, didnt pay to much attention. I let off and he gets in behind me. We take the same exit and get caught at a light, he rolls down his window and says man that car is fast its not stock is it. I say no, I have a few mods and I ask him what year his car is. He says 2000 and I say cool, and we go on our separate ways.

Anyways just thought Id share, I know there will be some people on here that dont like the outcome, but thats what happened. My car currently sits at about 340-350 hp. Thanks for reading

Hell yeah, I knew your Z06 could take him.

Oh, wait... your Evo I mean.

Only thing that stopped me from buying one years ago is that I refuse to own a four-door car. Badass cars. 4g63 is a proven four-banger.

The TA had an exhaust other than that I dont know, most likely just the exhaust. I dont know what my car would run at the track, but on the freeway that wouldnt matter other than the trap speed. I have raced several friends that run mid to high 12's and I can beat them 1/4 mile. A guy with the exact same mods ran an 11.8, I would guess my car could trap at least 115 or so.

bboy...My wife is the same way she hates the Evo for that fact. I personally like it, I like the room and slow sedan like look

My mods are Invidia turboback exhaust, UR Test Pipe, WORKS P2 Reflash, WORKS 269 Cams, WORKS Titanium Valvesprings/Retainers (8K redline) WORKS Chromoly Flywheel, WORKS Carbon/Kevlar Clutch. That all for now for the power adders...If I keep the Evo I will get the WORKS Water/Alky Injection and upgrade the turbo.

Juiced...You'll have to do valvesprings and retainers too with that setup, well at least to be safe Once you get cams and a tune you'll be giveing your Vette a run for its money

The HKS cams have a pretty milr ramp rate and don't require valve springs, i Was at the HKS USA evo meet and one of their top engineers assured us al that even there 280 cams were valvespring safe.

Wow really? Cuz I though most people went with valvesprings when using the 272's.
I have theWORKS 269's and they told me you dont "need" them but just to be safe I went ahead and had them installed, which also allowed me to raise my redline to 8K safely, and with the cams it still pulls abouve 7K

HKS is a really User friendly company, thats why everyone uses them... no need to swap out springs. only draw back is that they're not very aggressive but once i have my head work done i'm looking into a set or piper 290's (advertised) 242 actual they have .472 lift these things are huge!
