Ford police interceptor
Got a guy at my gym who picked up a 2002 ford crown victoria with the police interceptor package. Don't know what that all entails, but it does have a deep rumble to it. He's pretty cocky and sure of himself. Says , "Yeah, your Z is fast but my car was built to run them down". I guess he has had some additional work done to it , but other then the obvious cat back, I dont know what. My Z is a 2001 with a lid cat back and a 3000 stall. We are hooking up tonight to do a run after work. I think I will take him by at least a couple lengths but who knows. I'll let you all know what happens.

I do believe there is a "true" interceptor package available for those cars, making around 300hp, If I recall Car and Driver tested one several years ago.

lol, you will murder him.
I can totally see this one...some meathead "from the gym" gets his first car with any kind of ***** and thinks he's billy badass - seen this scenario all too many times, lol. Can't wait to hear about how you smoked him and what his reaction was.

The only things the police interceptor package adds is posi-track stiffer springs shocks, swaybars, dual exhaust, enhanced engine calibration with no top speed limiter, higher shift points, revised cooling package, vinyl seats and floor covering, cloth can be an option. Ford upfitter package power distribution for radios, siren lights etc. You will eat his ***.

The only Crown Vic Variant worth owning is the Mecury Marauder and it gets the nice DOHC 4.6L.
The Vic May Handle somewhat better than a 94-96 9c1 Caprice (LT1), but it's taken them all this time to come close to the car's performance. Heck I think the 94-96 9c1 Caprice is even rated for better fuel economy. Not to mention every single pre 2000 4.6L SOHC Crown Vic PI I've seen burns oil like a ****...
This is an easy run
