Default formula vs turbo civic

I was leaving work and I get pulled up next to buy a civic. It's a chick driving with her boyfriend in the passenger seat. She yells over if I want to "run tonight". I say sure, she responds with how much and I said what ever you have . She says 200 we agree we will go from a dig. They said they need to "look over my car to find my mods". They find nothing and they notice I had a automatic and there like oh its an auto no problem. I didnt even look over her car and we went out to the road and went on her 3 count. 2nd beep She guns and then beeps the 3rd time and I leave after she does, this is how most people race around me. She maybe has a car on me and soon reel her in and wave good bye not even close LOL just like I expected. They follow me and say theres no way im stock and try to fight but I tell them look at anything im as stock as the come besides my cut out and lid , they have no idea what a stall is so i dont mind tellin them. They finally pay up and i go home a happy man.

Formula001 what kind of times are you running and what is your rear gear?

I am considering a 3500 stall as my next mod but I am concerned about the driveability around town.

I have the same gear as you, I was sceptical also with the driveability, it is working out well with me though I love it and really makes the car better to drive. As of times I have been unable to get to the track.

At work autos are always downgraded. I'm basically the only one who defends them. A guy at work says "manual is better because you have more control over it... a friend of mine blew-up his engine because he put shifted to 3rd intead of D."
I tell him WTF. Both trannies can make a car go fast. And I'm guessing manuals have a higher chance of blowing an engine. miss-shifting, skipping gears, over-reving, ect.

Manuals are fun to drive. You can burnout like crazy, chirp the tires in 2nd if you want, or you can be easy and make it smooth as silk. But then NOBODY ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH can shift a manual as fast as an auto can shift itself. That's why I fear the day an A4 F-car hits me up.

formulas are great aeren't they . if i had the nostril hood and the big old spoiler people would be like "no wonder it's fast it is a trans-am" but i get it all of the time- "what the hell do you have done to that thing?" . i also love "what motor does that have?". i just tell them the same as a vette and they are like "woah! no **** man" lol.

oh- 2.73 gears= great for street racing, believe me. you need a tire no matter what though.

Manuals are the better bet over all. Show me one race car that uses an automatic? And when I say race car I'm not meaning 1/4 mile I mean circuit, sprint, hill climb, rally.

They all use manuals, sometimes sequential manauls which have the ability to auto shift. The reason is as you have already stated - CONTROL.

You literally can drive and steer a car on the throttle as well as brake. With an auto you can not do this, as IT will decide when to shift.

Oh if you think I'm just giving auto's a hard time becuase I don't like them check my sig.

Auto - Drag racing = YES
Auto - for heavy traffic = YES

Anything else and it is second place to a manual.
