Challenged by a Mustang
My Co-Worker who hates 4 Banger Hondas has just challenged me to a race with his V6 Mustang. He is a Redneck that lives out in the country that didnt believe me when i said my 4 Cyl Honda can smoke his V6 Ford. Got into an argument and led to a $100 bet. From Stoplight and on the Highway. Tonite will be the race and will be filmed. Whats his Chances of beating me? How many car lenghts do you guys predict or how close do u think this race will be? By the way we are Both 100% Stock.

My money is on the S2000 for sure but...
What are the rules (ex. race from 20 to 100)? With some more details you will get some guesses as to the outcome assuming both drivers perform equally well.

140 mph? I think the Mustang will reach it's limit quite a bit before that. Oh well for him. You will definately school him on the S2000 and it's little 4 banger.

Unless he has a healthy shot of the juice he wouldnt take you in the 1/4 and there is no chance he will reach 150 in that v6 stang. You should have him by several lengths to 100...after that it will probably look like he slammed the brakes or threw it in reverse.

are you guys serious? you've run a 13.9 in your 2000....it's a V SIX mustang....with a 13.9 you'd even take a GT mustang, except for maybe an 05/06...
it's no contest..if you run it to 140, you won't be able to see him in your rear view, haha

i'm basing my statement on your 13.9 run...from what i understand the gt's run mid 14's at best
back to the 'race' at hand. apparently the v6 mustang only weighs about 100 lbs more than your's but he's only pushing ~150 horse....does he not realize how week the old mustang v6's are? that guy is clueless...
just out of curiosity, why'd you decide to ask this question here? you have an S2000 and you're asking about a V6 mustang, neither of which has anything to do with ls1tech...haha
just wonering, seemed kind of odd to me...as i'm sure there are several mustang and/or s2000/honda boards you could have posted to

A v6 mustang will run anywhere from 15.5-16.5 depending on if it's a manual or auto.....convertable.....Driver..
Your S2000 will DESTROY a V6 stang and dosent have to hard of a time defeating the 260 HP V8 models...
To be perfectly honest...
YOUR 13.9 WOULD GIVE SOME OF THE LS1 F BODIES ON THIS SITE A RUN...
THERES A FEW LS1 F BODIES ON THIS SITE THAT HAVENT BROKE 13.99 YET...
Thats defiently not the norm for F bodies...But just giving you an idea of how solid your 13.9 really is...GOOD DRIVING.

launch good and its all over. but seriously, he stands no chance what so ever. as long as you dont completely blow your engine, its going to be really ugly for him. 13.9 is a good run, nice driving. i feel so sorry for that guy.
is your car new? its really clean.

My sister has a 98 V6 Mustang, and those things are so slow it's unbelievable. I almost finished my nap by the time she got to 100. The Mustang doesn't stand a chance. Thats my two cents.

You will get taken for the first 10-15' out of the hole and then you will proceed to beat him like a red headed step child. from a roll he wont even be a contender. Man, thats easy money, i would feel guilty.

I really hate to say this (and NOT be kidding) but, your VTEC will own him the higher you go. And your car is so light that you should even get him on the lower end pretty easily too.
As for 99-04 Mustang GTs I've seen them stock run anywhere from 13.9-14.7. I'd say don't drop the clutch or powershift... you're not exactly gonna take him by a few hairs, more like a few billion hairs.

I hope he gets the results and video up tonight....this should be a good laugh. What is that cocky V6 mustang driver thinking....Reminds me of some guys that had newer v6 stangs in high school that thought their car was as fast as my 94 Z28...

This is hilarious. What a tard. Your times would beat stock 01-04 GT's, and my Saturn 1.9 liter M5 would smoke V6 Mustangs...I would bet him even more. That car would be lucky to run low 16's. 15's are out of its reach for sure b/c that Saturn I had ran low 16's and smoked them.
