ricer in civic si with b20 motor wants to racer for $ there are these highschool ricer kids that live on my block, the one kid has a friend who has a civic that claims he will destroy me in a street race. He says its a civic si with a b20 (whatever the he!! that means) with headers and other misc. boltons. he says he wants to run for 100$ tomorrow. Im sick of hearing it so im gonna run him. what should i expect. My car 98 a4 ta 67k miles, hooker longtubes, cutout, lid and tuning, 317hp 332lbs/tq best ET before tune was 13.4 @ 104 that was with 26 less hp and 16lb/tq less. should i be able to destroy this guy? any info before tomorrow would be great

make sure he said b20 and not k20 and that it's not FI. Here's some numbers and applications of the b20:
B20A3 1958 104@5800 111@4000 9.1:1 81 95 dohc no 0 1990-1991 Prelude 2.0 S
B20A5 1958 135@5800 111@4000 9.0:1 81 95 dohc no 0 1990-1991 Prelude 2.0 Si

In other words unless his car weighs 1200lbs. you'll kill him. He may run high 14s if he's good with those mods and the CRV-spec

Hey, I am thinking about airing hte tires in my 21speed mountain bike back up, will you run it for $100...if he thinks he can win, I might have a chance!!!LMAO, crush this nut and take his money.

You should have this one in the bag. When he says B20 he probably means a b16 head on a b20 block. It'll have some punch for a 4 banger, but unless he's got some $$ into it you'll be fine.

I'm laughing my *** off at this. He better have some weight reduction if he expects to get anywhere NEAR you. Let the ***-whooping commence. My buddy had a Civic hatch with an LS-Vtec, which is a B18 (1.8), with a B16 head. So it was basically a higher compression DOHC Vtec 1.8. mid 13's if that.

I would be carefull with those 20b's on a light car like a civic, with a v-tech head and high compression those guys are 300+ hp. no to mention that they can rev to almost 10k.

b20 sux the b20 was crappy that is why they switched to the h22 and h23 in the preludes. you can build up on any honda but that would be a bad base. im sure you could kill him but watch out there are some really fast honda's especially around houston that have less liters than my soda. haha, that is so played out. anyway i've seen this civic hatch dx. with a jdm b18 fully built with some spray and pulled on a modded viper.... for a lil bit, they were pretty much even. (obviously not from a dig)

alot of imports just have intake and exaust and think they are the fastest thing out there but if its a properly well built engine you never know. Because keep in mind most people underestimate imports so the ones that do build them correctly and are quick can really suprise you. thats why its important to know your foe. thats why i have learned the basics about them so when i do race them i know what they are talking about.

he probably has the b20 bottom end from the crv for low end power. seen that done. better then a ls/vtec swap. what head is on it. i don't see you losing, but i have seen all motor civics pull your last time. also, lots of import people try to be sneaky sneaky and run nitrous. good luck man.
