Cool First 'race' after my 408ci install!!

Coming off of an on-ramp, I notice a red "sporty looking" car about 2-3 blocks behind me on the interstate. I was actually hoping it was a newer Corvette! Not really thinking anything about it, I gave my car some gas.... got up to about 90, settled back down to 65 and cruised. The exhaust note must've gotten that little red cars attention cuz here he came! As it gets close enough for me to make out what it was... I notice it's a 88-89(ish) Nissan 240sx. WTF? Had fat tires on the back, appeared to be lowered by cutting the springs (bouncing after hitting bumps), and had a full cage in it. He gets up next to me at 70... I'm in 3rd (auto).. and plant the pedal. That's when I hear "swwiiiiissshhhh" very loudly, over my cars exhaust. Blow off valve? Turbo?! Great! At this point I keep 'er pointed straight and stay in it... til around 110. Look in my drivers side mirror and he's about 4-5 cars back. Hmmmmmmmmm. That was fun! I settled back down to 65-70, he got up next to me and had a confused grin on his face. I gave him a thumbs up... I don't know that he saw me do that. He took the next ramp in the direction opposite of me. At any rate, I know that's fairly dull, and I wish we could have got to talk to one another... because I'd like to know what he was running. That little car was fast as hell! Although, I'm sure he didn't expect what he got either. If the T/A would've been stock, I'm thinking he would have walked me BAD! What are those cars capable of? I'm not up on my Turbo Import stuff at all.

Depends on the setup...if it is the typical SR20DET swap with a turbo, you are right...they can walk a stock-ish car pretty bad (trust me, I know). It doesn't mean they will, but I've seen it happen.

Nice kill.

Seen them run everything from high 14's to low 10's. He probably had a swap and a decent sized single. Good kill.

That's awesome...just pick up the car with a new motor and beat up a turbo import.

Heck yeah... It's got 300 miles on it. I was told it was a good idea to get 'er up there in the RPMs to seat the rings properly.

Good kill. I don't think many imports will want a piece of your car.

It put down 450rwhp & 425rwtq on a Dynojet. What's really holding me back is the stock throttle body & LS6 intake. I need a 90mm setup. :-D

Those are some damn nice numbers considering your bottleneck. What's your compression?

Yeah, most bolt-ons. Headers, ORY, catback, underdrive pulley, lid, 85mm maf, AFR 205 heads, 3500 stall... still stock auto tranny & rear w/ 3.23s though. Cam is a 244/248 .612/.615 on a 115lsa.

What's your compression?
Right at 10.2 to 1. Left some room in it for boost next year. >:-)

Nice numbers through an auto and big stall.

That cam must idle really well with a 115 LSA

I *just* took a couple of vids of the car idling and being revved. I'll put them online within the next hour, probably under a new post in the multimedia forum. It idles VERY well with that 115... which is exactly what I wanted. It's kinda "stealthy" even.

When I was in texas, I saw a blue and white one cruising on the base. I thought to myself about how gay and slow it must be. This is not ****!! That night I saw him at the local drag strip running low 7's in the 1/8th! I think that's around mid to low 11's in the 1/4! I was shocked as hell..........

Nice kill dude......
