A short while ago....I finally put the spray on my car(white FRC 2000 Vette). It wasn't hitting....or it didn't feel good(ended up being due to plugs). Anyways, it wasn't on. I go for a spray run, way out west(we're at the street races). I take my buddy for a ride, who has never been in my car before.

We go for a run, spray was all weirded out,...so I made a U turn and was on my way back to the spot. I pull in, faceing the street, and as I am about to turn off my lights, a yellow late model SPYDER diablo cruises by.

Bam. Car goes in gear, and we pursue the diablo. He stops at the stop sign,....as I am coming up behind him hard on the brakes. He goes through the stop,.....I follow. I am still behind him,....cause I didn't want to get a run on him. So I stayed behind.

From a 25mph roll..... I was about 20 yards off his tale.... He punches it. I was in first gear, so I was more then ready. I nail it. He didn't pull onm me at all....it was about dead even. I powershift, so..I was banging gears....I hit third gear, and at this time, I am getting soo close to the back of this car, it was time to chnage lanes...... 4th gear comes, i'm at his bumper, slowly pulling on this car..... I powershift 5th gear. stalemate for a couple of seconds..... he actually put about two feet on me at about 160.....then I pulled it out back on top.

At 170mph, his front bumper was at my door,....leaving me an entire front fender on him. at 170+(like 173 or 174), I had the fender on him,.......he threw in the towel.

Remember now, I started behind him, from a 25mph roll. And ran this thing down. SICK SICK SICK

Talk about a dream come true!!! What a rush. My boy steve was tweaking out the whole time. Rooting me on. It was great. It was like having sex with britney spears, ashly simpson,.....and Ally Landry all at the same time.

The diablo never stopped,...but I think he is my friends neighbor. We're about 99% sure it's him. Just ahven't seen the dude to confront him, yet.

We got back, and everyone and there mother wanted to race my car. AT that point, I didn't really give to ***** about raceing anyone else that night....but the **** talkers got to me. So, I got setup from a DIG against this right hand drive Supra on spray that goes "11.1's".

Whatever,....I raced that bitch,...and had a car on him the whole way.

I love this ****. Now the spray works.

What are your Mods? i've Ridden in a Diablo VT and those things are way fast about as fast as my friends 540 rwhp 408 Zo6.

And to beat a supra that runs 11.1's by a car you better be atleat in the high 10's

a local supra guy runs a th-400 in his single turbo he pull high 10's low 11's only kicker is that he does it at almost 155 mph!

A 540rwhp Z06 would absolutely annihilate a stock VT. A good H&C Z06 should beat pretty one easily in the 1/4.

were not talking 1/4 anything after 130 would be a top end race. and he says they raced to 170, At those speeds Aero dynamics take over and the Lambos have a definative advantage

the specs for a Diablo Roadster SE are a 5.7L 4 cam V12, 510hp @7000 580tq @ 5200

3500 lbs and a top speed of over 201 mph

I call bullshit. A Z06 with wierded out spray. If it was wierded out"cough cough bulllshit cough cough" A good running Z06 I have no problem with. I am not a hater just realist. Z06 running good on spray vs Lambo. Z06 gets the call.

IT WOULD STILL GET CRUSHED. What do you think 540rwhp equates to at the flywheel? I'd imagine your buddies 408 is making some serious tq also. It also has a 400lb weight advantage. Start them from a dead stop to 170 I say the VT still doesn't catch him. In a 1/4, not even close with all variables =.

Cool beans. Not worried about what you think pimpin'.

First things first,...they didn't make Z06's in 2000. I have a 2000 FRC vette. Same body style as a Z06 but, not a Z06. Production started in 2001.

My spray wasn't working,....at all. but, I never said I was spraying, didn't even try against the Diablo. I said it was on the test run right before I saw the yellow bull.

My car runs like a f***ing champ. Mods are simple but, key boltons. The block is stock. and I make over 400 rwhp. @ 3245lbs. I doybt your favored Diablo makes 500 to the wheels. I bet its more like 350 wheel horsepower.

I'm in the middle of setting up a race with my friends neighbor,...which I will have video of, when it goes down.

Belive it or not, it happened. Everyone at the races that night knows it too.

Your telling my that a rear engine car is going to lose 150 hp through the drivetrain???? there is a reasom the car goes 200+ mph. at speeds over 150 aerodynamics play a more important role than hp. try making a nex charger go 170 it's going to take a crap load of HP to push it trhough the air. The lambo just cuts through it.

400rwhp is 480@ the crank assuming a 15% driveline loss
510 engine hp is about 433 assuming the same driveline loss

so he has 33 hp on you but guranteed more than 100 lb/ft or tq 580 x .85 = 493

you have waht about 360-370tq.

you might have out launched him but no wau in hell you took him upto. Sorry your car might run like a champ but i gurantee it can't defy physics

The Diablo is AWD, therefore it does have a lot of drive train loss. How much? I’m not sure, but I’ll bet it’s a lot more than 15%.

The Vette is 300-400 pounds lighter.

Aerodynamics? Vette = .29 Diablo = .32 (higher is worse)

I’ve seen the Diablo listed as running 11.80’s @ 120 in the ¼. Guess what? A 6 speed Vette with 400+ RWHP is at least that fast in the ¼. And with better aerodynamics and less weight the Vette will pull on the top end.

The story sounded like it was a pretty tight race. I see no reason to doubt it.

Hey Dumass i owned a 04 Coupe,

I've ridden in a Diablo, a 540 rwhp Z06, and a F40,

Uptop the Diablo pulled harder than the zo6 did.

Gone just over 180 on alot of occasions. Car does it nicely. NI have ran out of room trying to take it any faster then that. Traffic/turn/whatever reason.

Not sure if my car would do 200mph on motor. In my personal opinion,...it wouldn't.

but up to 170+...he had nothing for me.
