02 mustang GT 5-spd vs. C5 6-spd vette
well... i found a vette when i was out cruising in my gt and i messed with him. i was on my dailydriver tune and was like... well, lets see what shes got in her. so he finally just guns it without 3 beeps or anything (roll racing). and we went from about a 50 roll to about 75. around 70-75 i had about 1 car on him and i had a crappy start off (tires spinning like crazy). so how did i fair against the vette? what do C5's run stock? sounded like he may have had a mild exhuast.

I hope by a little belt squeek it means you have a blower on that mustang. What are your mods? Gonna have to have a lot done to that vert to beat a c5 vette, especially if its modded and is a 6-speed. The vette should be good for low 13's high 12's. My buddy has an 01 triple black mustang vert and its not even close when we race. All he has done performance wise are flowmasters and although it sounds good its very heavy and is an a4.

I'm gonna guess a vortech with 10psi. Stock C5's run low 13's with the average driver. LS1 guys am I right? Good kill. But why would you have 2 different tunes for a blower car? I can understand nitrous (n/a and on the juice) but for a blower it's always available. -Mark

sorry... i went over to a friends house and didnt check for replies... yea, i do have a blower. its a aftercooled vortech at 10psi. my car put down 410rwhp on my street tune and the performance tune put down 440rwhp. i ran the guy on my street tune. both tunes run on 93 octane... only thing is the performance tune has 2 more degree's of timing. and yea... my tires spin from a 65-70 roll. from 35-40 its not even worth a race, a honda almost beat me because of traction. i kick the back end out alittle going into 4th around 90.
heres the mods list.....
Vortech S-trim SQ-V2 with 10lb pulley
Aftercooler for the vortech w/ IAT located after the aftercooler
4 inch homemade boost pipe
90mm lightning maf
42lb ford injectors
310lph fuel pump
FFRP 3.73 gears
BBK LT headers
BBK catted X pipe
Borla catback
SPEC stage 2 clutch
steeda upper and lower control arms
full length sub frame connectors
steeda caster camber plates
eibach pro springs
blu thunder short throw shifter
75mm Accufab Throttle body
C&L upper intake plenum
all synthetic oils throughout drivetrain/engine
water wetter in radiator (helps motor run cooler)
10% antifreeze/90% distilled water in aftercooler
battery relocated to trunk
then a couple things for looks like a chin spoiler
and ive got stock 245's for tires and stock internals in the block....
put down 440rwhp and 420 torque last tuesday.

yea, its pretty fun.. the only bad thing is traction.. if i can get this car to hook up, i know i will be competition for C6's and C5 Z06's. if the car will hook up it should run between a 11.8-12.3... that is if i get a good launch.. haha. that wont happen till i get some M/T DR's though.

Hmmmmmmm......22" Eagle Alloys, wonder why you can't hook up?
Drag radials alone ain't gonna do it. 275's minimum with an actual side wall should do it (like maybe a 16x9.5 wheel & some Mickey Thompson ET's).
