Knocked off a 00 Lightning in the 305!!!
I had just got off of work to day and was heading to the house and came across a black lightning truck. Damn, I said to my self, well i had to pass him in order to make my turn a head of him, so i pulled along side to pass him and like the usual hot head he wouldnt let me by, he would simply match my speed so i couldnt pass him, just waiting for me to run him. So by now i just said forget the turn im just going to see what he's got. We get on down teh highway and get up to about 65 and i try to pass him in the left lane and he matched my speed as i pulled along side him and so i just stayed beside him for a min then boom were off. I pulled him right at 3 and 1/2 cars before i let out. Damn, I didnt know my car was actually that quick but i just have a good setup on my little old 305. Well thats my Christmas.

Trust me when you hear a loud wine from a super charger you know that this dude is racing you. So you can chill with all the he probabbly not racing me deal. I have been street racing for a long *** time. Dont insult me like that again. Once again this motor is not stock any more brother. Those trucks only run 9.0's in the eith mile i sould run 8.80's on the motor.

But i see where these guys are coming from. 305's are not reconized for having any horsepower potietial's. I figuered out the key to making one run, it can be done. My motor is built form stock parts form different motors (327,350,305) its just a great combonitation of parts. I didnt really believe it would work all that well but these Georgia backwoods good old boys know their stuff. So believe what you want, i know what my car will do and what it out ran.

The only advantages I see you having against a Lightning are 4.10 gears and a weight advantage but those Lightings are putting out 440FTLBS of torque so thats a hell of a good kill for your 305!

lightnings aren't too impressive up high my brother hung with one in a stock 03 G35 from like 65-80. really short run, but I thought it shoulda pulled at least a bit.

STOCK lightnings arent too great up top. Modded ones are a different story. I raced a lightning from 80-135 and he put about 4 car lengths on me. Not bad for
the flying brick. I saw he had a 12 second club sticker on his rear window.

From 65 to whatever speed and you pulled 3 1/2 lengths. I dont know much about lightnings but maybe thats a bad spot for them to race from a roll. I am like most on here that find it hard to believe you pulled one by that much unless you were going 130 by the time you shut down. Nice kill regardless. You should know to put on your flame suit when mentioning the words quick and 305 in the same sentence.

You would think Lightnings are slower from a roll, but they arent. My buddies Lightning vs. my LS1 in its current condition when he was stock wasnt a blow out by any means. I got him, but only by a few cars and my car aint no slouch. Now he has a 5# lower, Predator, CAI, and I barely get him. Its a 2000, stock it went 14.0@98 and currently he runs 13.0@104 mph.
You got lucky its the street, just dont go aroud thinking this is going to be the outcome all the time.

Mid 13's is what they do stock.
Stock the trucks are not that good at higher speeds but 65 mph is hardly high speed.
Sounds like you raced a normal f150 or a lightning clone.
