Default Yes import race.....sorry

Well, I know this is a "ricer race", but it was awesome. Recently I just got my car protuned. Unfortunatly I could only do a road tune, so I have no real numbers yet. The average gain for the group of cars the day earlier was 20whp and 40ft.lbs. I think that's at least what I got. So here's the story...

So I was on my way home and for some reason all I saw was imports everywhere!!! My commute is pretty long(1.5hrs) so I see a bunch of cars, but nothing ever worth racing. Well, I got half way home and I just merging onto the highway.... as I was getting on it, I shift and start to slow. On my left all of a sudden I hear a whooossshhhh, then a RSX-S goes wizzing bye. Knowing that this guy was game, I pull behind him and follow until he moves to the middle lane. I go by and give him a thumbs up, just to convice him he's worth it. He acknowledges (sp) and pulls back out behind me. We get to a clearing and I pull to the middle lane....not suprising, he blows past me and gets off at a two lane exit. It just so happens, that's still my way home. Eventually I catch back up and looks over then guns it. I give him just a small taste of what I had, making sure he takes off. Well for me there was still too much traffic, so I let him take off. About a min later he slows back down and wants a legit run. I'm in the passing lane and he's in the middle lane. I shift to 3rd and await his signal (at about 55-60mph)....3 honks. One...Two...Three, I give him a small jump to be sure he won't bitch. I mat it to the floor and just simply roast him!!! I let off around 100mph with him at LEAST 3 cars behind. I await his approach, but as soon as he gets beside me he hit the exit. Over all I was happy, but still awaiting a real car. I know he at least had an intake or something, because he was okay for an RSX.

CN: I did a roll run from ~55-100, and walk on an punk.

wow, good kill. How does that STI do against a 350Z from a roll (I know it would win, but by how much?)

I like seeing anything fast race, lol. Nice job, at least he slowed down to have a real race instead of some fly by than weave through the traffic crap.

I'm actually not sure what would happen against a 350 or G35. I know the STi would win, but I personally haven't run into any. I also would like to run into a Terminator as well, but I'll wait an see what happens this spring/summer when the nice cars come back out.

Thinking about it, I've only run into a few f-bodies and mustangs. I can compete with some of the v8s, but not the highly modded one obviously. My closest match up is aginst DannoWS6. He'll beat me at the track, but I'd like to try it from a roll now that I'm tuned.

Just guessing from my orignal #s and taking the average of the cars tuned, I should be putting down 310whp and 330ft.lbs give or take depending on what type of dyno. We have several to choose from for AWD.

LMAO, I cant post anything w/o being accused of benching anymore can I? (for the record you are correct). Anywho, If i see you on a decent patch of road I will be ready (I hope to have a non-leaking water pump and radiator catch can by then as well).

What kind of "whoosh" sound did you hear? When I see "whoosh" I think turbo.

I think from a roll a 350z and STi stock for stock would be pretty even. The STi might pull it out, but I'm not sure. The only reason I say that is the higher drivetrain loss of an AWD car. The STi would definitely rape it from a dig though.

well my buddy has a 2003 Evo and this car and the STI are pretty even. From a dig we really don't stand much of a chance with a good driver. From a roll I did pretty decent but there was a very slow walk in the evo's direction. The sti stock for stock will walk away on a Z I believe but I have never gotten to run one. My buddy at work just got one so maybe this summer on a 120 degree day I'll run him

Yeah I was gonna say, Ive raced several in my Evo and with 310 or so whp in an Sti it will kill a 350. With my current mods I pull 350's pretty hard. When I was stock only thing I raced that was comparable to a 350 was our 03 S2000 and I could pull on that a bit, but it was a close race.

I don't think people realize that yes, there is drivetrain loss, but it's not as crazy as people make it sound. A stock for stock 350 vs. STi/EVO the AWD car will beat it. How comparable are the 350 to a mustang GT? They are pretty similar in my mind, and when I was stock and I raced my friends GT, I walked for the most part at any speed. He even had an exhaust, so that give you an idea of what our stock cars can do. I'm not saying I took off, but I'd say about 1/2 a car lenth for every 15-20mph gained. *shrug*

I don't think AWD drivetrain loss is "crazy," but it is the highest out of FW, RW, and AWD. Speaking of STis, did anyone see that show Made on MTV where the girl wanted to be a skateboarder and her coach drove a blue STi? Man it looked nice.

I will say, S2K's are pretty nice from a roll.

We can like inch away from 99-04 mustang GT's. They still give us a good run though. The new ones i'm not so sure about.

By ricer math, I now conclude that I can bury 99-04 GT's !

I was just saying that it's not easy and it can usually be up to the driver in the race. That's all
