can i take him my buddy just bought a 2006 gto a4 and says he will smoke me i have a 2002 camaro ss a4 w/ 325rwhp and 340rwtq i think i will take him any imput

The 05 and 06 GTO's are the faster of the new goats, running mid to low 13's i believe. But, if you drive well i would say he doesnt stand a chance. They are heavy and lose a lot of power to the IRS. Good luck!

For your mods you have a strong LS1. I say you will take him from a roll.

U should beat him. When i only had a catback, clutch and lid i would take out '05s all the time. Now it is only worse for them especially if they are stock. The '04 GTOs for some reason always did better against me than the '05 and '06. Can't wait till i get qtp longtubes and f13 installed.

yeah right, keep thinking we're losing a lot of power because of the irs..., i haven't seen the first fbody with those mods to trap higher than 105mph at fontana speedway. auto or not....

Remember though that 06 Goat has an LS2. if hes stock hes gona put up a good fight. I say race him any way, have a friend video tape it and let us know. i havnt got a clean race with one personaly but thats just my 2 bits.

by the way, how heavy do you think the GTOs are??? There's this myth that "they must weigh close to 4000 pounds"....
My car weighed in at 3690 pounds with a little under half a tank and the stock wheels on it for the winter.
with the V-brace out of the back of the car, jack and spare out and my aftermarket wheels on, it will be about 3625 or so.
my '98 Z28 was 3400 even with around half a tank and the jack/spare pulled.
the difference isn't that big at all considering the LS2 has around 55-60 more HP than an LS1 and lower gearing in the tranny.
