Default 2006 SRT8 Hemi Sedan vs. 2000 Camaro SS

Got right next to the guy (get this) test driving (w/the sales person) a new SRT8. He says he wants to see if "an old Camaro can hang with the Hemi" !!

I let him go and that thing took off!! So, I catch up and ask if we can go again @ the next light on this 4 lane hwy. I whipped that cars *** by 8 cars as I redlined 3rd. Damn it was fun! Guess a 3800lbs rag-top SS with a 383 is pretty fast.

Man, When I worked for ford I never bullshitted my customers. One asked if the new GT would take his friends LS1 TA. I told him with = drivers no. But it is a more complete package (referring to the rear end as well as the better build quality...yes, imho they are nicer inside). Also, more mods available. This is not a new GT vs. LS1 thread steal. Just saying, I never bullshitted about how slow/fast it was

I wouldn't say that the Mustang is better built or better quality. The Mustang does have a stronger chassis/body. The Mustang is built out of metal and the F-Bodies have a mix of plastic, fiberglass and metal.

The rear end in the Mustang is stronger, that's true. Nicer on the inside? Somewhat subjective. I don't like the interior styling as much at all. I hate the position of the shifter, and there is less leg room in the Mustang. From my experience, the interior quality is about the same.

I think parts of the last-gen of Mustang interiors are nicer than F-bodies, but on the whole I prefer the LS1 (obviously). As far as mods go, it's always been Ford>GM. People just make more parts and thus they're cheaper, too. Now if you were talking 03-04 Cobra vs. SS/WS6, holy crap!!! I can't believe how powerful and cheap to mod those things are. Awesome looking and awesome performing cars.

Anyway, back on topic...

GREAT KILL! I love showing those hemi people, "Don't believe the hype". Especially great for yours, since the guy was talkin' **** and had a sale on the line.

not trying to bash mustangs but as far as interior fit goes the f-body is far superior.
gaps on interior peices are horrendous (last generation)that is the exact reason my girlfreind didnt buy one.
she's wanted a vert mustang since she was a kid and when she was finally able to two minutes behind the wheel was all it took to change her mind.

He may have been disappointed by the loss but I don't think he will be out looking for a four-year-old LS1, a new GTO perhaps but not an F-body.
