Z-28 fast or not? Hi guys I was just wanting to ask yall a question sice this is the right board to do so. I belong to the SVT board but Yall know ur stuff when it comes to Z's. Ok here is the deal. My friend went and bought a used 99? Z-28 camaro for 7,000k. He says it is very fast? It is stock though. He is putting turndowns on it and mabye a chip? What do you think about this car and he claims he can beat me? I was just wandering. Thanks guys for your help.

Since no one asked already, why the hell is he putting a chip in it? Tell him to register on this site so he can get some real information on LS1's. Oh yeah, if you can, get the slaughter on videotape for us.

yeah film it and stomp his ***. people with big mouths need to learn when to be quiet. our Z's are quick but not blown GT 4.6l on juice quick. i have a pretty much bone stock 99 Z m6 and run mid 13's with decent traction. you should be WELL under that. i personally wouldnt even waste my time racing you because you would put a hurtin on no matter how good im driving that day. shut him up with one race then wait till he gets some spray and race him again. itll be a bit closer. good luck, have fun, and stay safe.

ha ha thanks ws-sick. I will. I will tell him about the chip you just told me. He is new to the ls game i am pretty sure

This might be the kids first quick car so he thinks its the fastest thing on 4 wheels, I thought that my first fast car (LT1z) was fast till I bought a mildly modded 12sec GN and then knew the Z wasn't all that. I realized the hard way it wasn't fast at all.

Hahaha thank you 01MMMZ28! I Love camaros just like I do n e thing else, but he seems to be oppisite of me and he hates mustangs with a passion. I told him be proud of his car no matter what it puts down. always room for improvement right? N e way Ill post it asap for you ok. Thanks again man.
