Default Hilarious story...

Ok well during the winter basically I just drive a 2002 Mercury Sable platinum edition with like a 200 something stock HP rating. Well I took it to the 1/8 mile track and ran a 10.4@69 mph which is pretty decent for what it is. Next run I ran a 10.2 @ 70 mph. I'm thinking ****...I bet I could hang with a 5.0 or a 96-98 GT.

RACE 1: Well I "accidently" pulled up next to like a 89-92ish 5.0 GT automatic. We take off and he gets the better 60' so he's a little bit ahead, and to my surprise, not only did I reel him in, I passed him and ran a 10.24 @ 70.3 mph. He ran a 10.3x @ 68 or 69. WOW. and people actually claim these things run low 14's and even 13's stock.

RACE 2: I again "accidently" pull up next to a mustang. This time it was the 96-98 mustang GT variety. It was an auto. We start off and he gets ahead from the 60'. He gets about half a car ahead and it stays that way all the way to the finish line. I ran a 10.4 @ 70 with a 2.5 60', he ran a 9.9 with like a 2.1 something 60'.

RACE 3: Some junked out 305 Carb 80's style firebird. I took this thing off the line and just kept on pulling. The firebird ran like a 10.9 @ 65 or something really slow like that lol. I ran another 10.3 @ 70.

RACE 4: Here's where I pull up next to an LT1-style camaro to be a smartass. I actually thought it was a 6-cylinder because of no badges until I heard it start-up. Well he ran a 7.9 @ 90ish mph.

Afterwards: I found my friend with a 96 mustang GT auto w/ flowmaster exhaust and he had some friends in the car. I asked him if he wanted to race and he said sure. Well we went out to the country and raced from a dead stop. I fell behind at first but I pulled ahead pretty easily at about 60mph. He was astonished. Then we raced from a 50 mph roll and I stomped him pretty good. Then they put some of the people from his car into mine and he beat me by about a car.

OVERALL, it's hilarious because it's a Mercury Sable.

That is some funny ****! I say put a small shot on it and take it to the street races to make a hussle on the cars you know you can take. Just imagine the look on their faces when they have to pony up the dough for loosing to a "car never intended for any type of racing".

Yeah I have found that it is downright hilarious to street race in this fukin thing. I will roll up to some riced out cavalier who thinks hes the **** and do a fly-by, then he'll try to race me and i'll win. Nothing like a fly-by in a ****** Sable and it makes ricers so mad.

its a v6 dohc 24 valve duratec engine. 96-98 GT's are LUCKY to hit low 15's. I've seen most autos running like 15.5-15.8 lol manuals prob low 15's MAYBE high 14's(like 14.99). They are even more pathetic from a roll, back when my 91 z28 was stock(250 hp , 350 torque, 14.4 1/4 mile) I completely destroyed a mustang auto from a 35 roll, it looked like he hit his brakes. The L98(engine in my car) engine isn't exactly a roll monster either lmfao.
