Default Raced the latest model RX-7

Ok so I'm driving home when I see this black RX-7 on my ***. I speed up a little and he smashes right past me. I noticed the gold rims he had on...anyway I pull next to him and I wait for him to get the jump. When we hit it I start to pull pretty good and he's at my bumper it stays like that until I hit 4th and I slowly start walking him. We raced twice with the same outcome. I later find out that my friends know him and they don't know all his mods, but they know he's pushing 12psi. I don't believe that because if he was at 12psi he should smoke me right?? I only have a lid k&n intake, FTRA, and GMMG. Something is up here!

Nice kill, stock boost is actually 10 psi. But the results sound "about" right. It would be a lot more helpfull to know the rest of his mods though.

I think most rx-7s that run 12-13psi have the supporting mods for the extra boost. If the rx-7 had a intake, full exhaust and tune running 12psi he would have easily smoked you.
Sounds like the car is stock but he just turned up the boost.
Or there is the possibility that he just sucked *** at driving.
either way, good kill.

10 psi was stock, and no way he is going to destory a 12 second capable car.

Na, shouldn't smoke you, it should be damn close though. Depends on what his has, and how he drives.

What makes me wonder about your story is the 4th gear pull, RX-7's have very strong 3rd and 4th gears. That is not when you should have pulled him, that is when he should have been catching up. You should have pulled im low.

I know, I have seen like 8 threads about racing RX-7's. Damn kids have been watching the fast and furious too much lately.

Believe me I'm not BSin at all. I don't need to lie and make myself feel better. I don't care if I lose anyway. I know it was a RX-7 because my neighbor has one. If I ever see him again I'll ask for all his mods, but don't call BS on me because its facts that I stated in this whole story.

I thought the race would of been a lot closer or him beating me. I just hear he's at 12psi because my friends that know him tell me, but I don't think they would lie to me about that. Oh well.....RUN WHAT YA BRUNG

I have a 1994 RX7 R2 in my garage at home. Stock, it's about 12psi...ours was running at 14psi before it blew it's seals.

Now in the process of getting a new motor for it, or haveing ours rebuilt.

Cool cars, only about 250 horse though. stock

Little tight on the inside though,....not that I don't like it tight.
I would like to put an LSX in place of the rotary to be honest.

Hinson has some sick cars and you still keep the 50/50 split.

Stock boost is 10 psi, no more no less.

12 psi on a stock ecu(if yours was stock) is why your motor blew.
What mods do you have and what are you plans with the rebuild? another stock motor? just curious. bc I'm in the process of rebuilding mine now. i'm shooting for low to mid 400s on a small/medium sized turbo.

Not quite 50/50, about 51/49 with some modifications.
