Default question concerning shifting and racing

ok... so what is the best rpm to shift at when racing an m6 ls1? Should you redline every shift, or are there peaks that you should shift at? I have always wanted to know, just want to be a better driver. Thanks for info in advance...

Take your dyno chart, shift where the next gear will fall in the fattest part of your tq peak. If not, get as close to it as possible, i dunno, thats just my humble advice. Like on a stock 5.0, anyone shifting past 5K or so is being an idiot and losing ET. pretty much same for the 4.6's but not QUITE as bad.
