slicks vs. street tire
Getting ready to test my new heads and cam out. Race will be against a 92 fox body that made 263 to the ground but the thing is, is he is on slicks while I am on BFG KWDS tires. My car made 430/390 on a dyno jet. I have quite a bit of suspension mods done but only have 3.42 and my locking diff does work.
Do I stand a chance against this car from a dig? I know I can reel it in my not sure if the 1/4 will be over before I do so.
Also I have not launched the car yet from a stop with the new setup
Any input is appreciated, I don't want to get embaraced in front of a crowd!

Not necessarily. He would have to prep those slicks. If they are dirty they won't perform as well, but they will have a good amout of grip. I don't see the LS1 loosing though, even if he does out 60 him.

hmmm....hi guy's I'm the "outgunned" 90' LX,you'll be sad too know were still waiting for the LS1 to show up...just to clear the air I'm not on slicks, just some "amazing" drag radials. The HP numbers might be a far contrast from each other....but my car has badass struts.
P.S. were still sitting here waiting for him....and he won't answer his phone anymore, wtf?

Sorry to no show on you... I am scared to race. If you want come to 40th and pine lake......teach me how to solve all my dynamics problems for class tomorrow then we can line them up
Sometimes priorities need to be inline before drag racing cars I guess.
EDIT: Oh and welcome to LS1tech... I see you just signed up!

Hmmm...ok,your the one who was looking for a race...and I said ok.If you need me to do your homework that's fine,I can walk you through it after I beat you. My advice is next time don't say your gonna show three times in a row, then not show and not accept any calls....in addition, showing up and losing is at least respectable. I'll be here at the dyno all night if you get caught up on your studies and can bring the beast out, fyi.
On a sidenote, nice looking board guys...heard lots about it.This is my first time seeing it. Seems to be layed out pretty nicely.
