Lt1 vs Ls1

Lt1 vs Ls1
Well I ran my friend on the highway tonight he has a 93 firebird formula, 6speed, headers-exhaust, and intake, and a chip, vs my 2000 camaro ss, so it has the hood scoop-lid-air filter upgrades. We both were driving alone, and started from about 50-55 in 3rd gear I believe that should have put him around 2600 rpm I was right around 3000 so he does the honking and we both take off right next to each other, at about 4000 I begin to pull a car length and by the time I finish third (shifted at 5300) I am roughly 2 cars ahead and then we are only on it in 4th for about a second letting off at about 115. So yeah.

yeah thats about right. I had basically the same mods on my 94 but had 4.10s as well and pulled slightly on a 98-02 SS. Dunno if he was stick or auto, he was bone stock.
All an LT1 needs to run side by side down the quarter with an LS1 is tires and a cutout, but from a roll it needs a little more.

Definitally a good kill!
With my 2002 I'd put it in second at 55mph. With 3.73's out back I shift into 3rd at around 70-72 mph. Put me right in the meat of my power.
And yeah, it's definitally easier for a lightly modded LT1 to hang with a stock LS1 in the 1/4 than it is from a highway roll.

LMAO
I do the same thing with other cars I might run.
BTW, nice kill on the LT1.
