Normally, i dont care what anyone says about anything ls1 related, but that thread above is just retarted. The whole "oh no stock fbod can hang with a stock 03-04 cobra" argument, but seriously blown out of preportion. Ford guys really get off on the whole fact they finally got a cobra that could beat ls1s, they always seem to forget it took a blower from the factory to do it and should be a LITTLE bit inclinded to bring that up in an argument(ever notice its not them that states they needed a blower to haver ford build a fbody beating car? id blow my horn personally about havin a S/C). In the end its still who likes what, but when i read this i couldnt believe how truly retarted it was. Unit, you should enjoy this.
P.S. Ford guys can be cool of course, the looks on their faces/replies from their key boards when u bring up a blown LS1 is always priceless.

OMG it's 2006, can't that argument be laid to rest? On both sides? 03/04 cobras are fast. cool, good, great. F-bodies are fast too, stock for stock there's no way an F-body can win with equal drivers.
Mods are a moot point really, a modded civic can beat a cobra, that's just a humongous crap shoot and that's where we get all the ****-covered fans.
F-body= better chassis. There's nothing either side can say to change that. F-bodies especially excell in their interiors, where you don't have to worry about slamming your nuckles on the dash whenever you shift.
the 4.6's in 03/04 cobras are fully forged. Probably one of the only cars you can get with fully forged internals that can handle FI with such ease. They're easier to make big power with, but invariably hit a wall faster than LS1's, simply because of the laws of physics.
Either car is an awesome platform for a drag vehicle, but i'm gonna side by the LS1, because i know what it can do, i've got experience with GM products, and i like the community better than any other vehicle.
Are cobra's fast? of course. are they worth the money? that's up to you. 40 grand for a new car is a lot of money any way you slice it, and it's fairly obvious you can get a lot more for 40 grand than an old chassis and a great engine.

Cobra interior > F-body interior. I really like the mustang interiors, my passengers also very much appreciate the lack of that massive hump that kills foot-position (for lack of better word) on the "other side" of the fun seat. *Zips up flame suit and waits* Oh, my 1988 ford mustang GT has an interior in better shape than 90% of the older LS1 car's i have seen have i.e. no cracked dash panel, etc.

I have much respect for the LS1 cars. You'd be a fool not too. I think people get to worked up over brand loyality..Ford rocks or Chebby rules!?! The people making immature comments are usually young and know nothing about cars period. There are many car owners like these on every site. After a while it becomes mindnumbing.

that site is a crack up. I see a couple names I recognize from here too....scary. The Mach guys are the funniest.
At least when they finally lose to an LS1 they will be able to get hot chicks because they have Mustangs (are we in the movie outsiders??
). I was going to register over there but failed my 'tactless, ignorant chump' test.
For the record I like the mustang guys over here for the most part (toronatic just got 2 demerits though).
