02 Ss Vs 00 Ta
OK, I usually don't do any racing except at the track so here is my theory on what would happen if I (02 SS w/ TR224/224 .563/.563 114 LSA, PP S2 heads, jet hot LTH, Magnaflow catback, Yank 3200 TC) were to race David (00 TA w/ TR CheatR cam 214/230 .601/.578 117 LSA, jet hot LTH, Borla catback, vig. 3000 TC, 3.73 gears, NX 100 shot wet)
NA vs NA we lined up from a 60 roll both cars with 2 people (his 180# max each) mine (205# each). Me also having air tools and stock TC in the trunk...just finished installing the thing. Anywho, we were driving along and this guy decides he wants to try me w/o the spray which is good for me, but with that big cam I was thinking he might get me. On the 3rd honk we both hit it. :driving2: I jumped out maybe a 1/4 car on the downshift and then just kept pulling, by 130 I had 6 cars on him at least. I was very surprised how this thing pulled from a roll even with 4 degrees of KR. Funny thing about that KR, I don't get it from a dead stop only from a roll when the car has to down shift...make any sense to anyone?
Anyway we make our way to the Lucky 13 which is the place we go every time we work on and finish 1 of the cars in our group. While we were there David says he wants to go again, but this time he wants to spray...I said well OK but it will not be close unless he uses a smaller jet...that 100 shot (wet) will definitely put you over the top.
So we go out and get back on the interstate after he turns on the bottle :gotnx: . We get to 60MPH again and line them up...1honk...2honk...3honk...and we are off. I stayed side by side for around 1 second and then he just started pulling....to 160 he had at least 6-10 cars on me ...no surprise. We went a couple more times with the same result.
The last time we went, he decided he would go NA (did not tell me), well we were heading down a hill and we hit it. He stayed beside me for a second and I started to pull on him. Suddenly he was beside me again and passing and then I started to catch him again and pass. I thought his bottle must be low. Found out when we got back to Mark's house that he went NA and when I started to pull he hit the juice and caught up and then turned it back off.
Well thanks for reading my theory of how a roll race would go if I were to race David's TA. Sorry so long.
