i lost???
so i was on the way to the beach bars tonight, and this newer GTP pulled up next to me and it looked like he had the NASA control station in his car, ive never seen so many gauges and boxs....anyway...he revved at me at 40 and i punched it and took him to 100, i got him by a panel....we then came to two stop lights and raced, he got me by a panel both times, but he only raced to 70-80 from a stop....i knew my 2.73s and the a4 werent really gonna help me out from a stop. but dont most people race to at least 100 or is just me?, and i know there boosted but what are the specs on a GTP...and im pretty sure he had the bottle or had a really good boost control....because on the dead stop races, he wouldnt catch me until right around 70-80 then hed quit and it was like he shot up at that speed....finally it sounded like he had a huge vaccum under his hood, with a spraying sound around higher rpms....never really heard that mix...

Both in stock form, your T/A is definitely faster.
However...
Its very easy to turn the boost up on those cars, and the 3800's are more than up to the task.
I'm betting he had some work done to it, or he woudn't have picked a fight he knew he couldn't tackle.
One must keep in mind... a car that picks a fight with you does so for two reasons
1) They just don't understand the 4th Gen
2) They do understand the 4th Gen, are packin, and want to dance.

nah it was a black fourdoor, shaved headed guy, and after the last race he turned off and i guess went home down a street....i think he was kinda mad cause i was on the phone the whole time...i run mid-high 12s, id say this guys car maybe did high 11s or low 12s, but i couldnt really judge seeing we only did one race over 100 and that was the one i won.....i will say his car shifted like ***....like it hit really hard, im not sure if it was turboed or supercharged...but it didnt blow off, so i was leaning towards the SC, but like i said either he had a bottle or controlld boost really well?..hmm

There are some GTP's that are running 10's i guess. You have to watch out for the modded one's. Down low they will take you if modded but from a roll they aren't as good. I had a 3.4 pulley on my '00 GTP, DHP pcm, full exhaust, A/F controller and intake and i did a 5.7 second pull to 60mph and the thing hauled *** 'til about 105-110 then she fell off. Down low they are good light bruisers if you don't know what your up against. ~Cole~

The last time he ran that i heard i think he had like 87 pump gas, low timing, and a 3.0 pulley and he ran a 13 flat on street tires. If he has got his injectors in then, he would have more timing, higher octane, more fuel, and a smaller pulley and SHOULD be running low 12s w/ drag radials

GTP's can be very fast....
my old one
full exhaust, intake, pulley, methanol injection, and a custom tune (by me) and i ran 13.4@104 with a 2.2 60'.
The only race i ever lost on the street was to some dick in a z28. "WTF that pos can't keep up with this thing"

heh. yea GTP are easy to modify if the person know how to manage mods vs the size pulley they are using. the cars you really gotta look out for are the turbo grand prixs. they instantly are mid 12 second cars with traction and only costs them 3 grand. and the turbo FI helps out their lack of topend greatly. i used to have 2 GPs one was a 04 GT and i had a 05 GXP. and their are alot of guys in clubgp.com i would not wanna run into even now with my 13 flat time.
