ran a 03/04 Cobra Sorry kinda long...
Well was at the local hang out spot with a couple of my car buddies when an 03/04 Cobra came through, Real quite...stock exhaust...he rolled through and kept going. I didnt think nothing of it...he came around again...so this time my friend called him over asking if it was fast.
He said it made 550 crank HP....I'm thinking to myself, through a stock exhaust too huh? Impressive!!
Its a tall built kid driving, but it was the passengers car who was some black kid with a football jersey on. He was 17 years old and was a junior in high school driving an 03/04 Cobra. Wow...anyways...he goes on telling us it was a stripper mustang that its an 01 Cobra with 03/04 Everything. Now keepin mind it had EVERYTHING,Stock 03 rims,hood,spoiler,bumper, I had him pop the hood. WOW EXACTLY the same motor in a 03/04, Eaton blower, interior was all 03/04 Cobra. So whatever I didnt really think anyone would put all that work into making an 01 into a 03/04.
So he asked if the silver camaro was mine and asked if I wanted to run for 500$. I then looked at his back tires and saw it was on street tires :rofl: :rofl: I said how about 100$ from a dead stop. He responds with " naw man a 30 roll dawg thats where Im good from"...I said we dont race from a roll at Milan Dragway why do you go against my bolt on camaro from a stop...youve got a blower dude youll win.
So after bullshit blahblah he decides to go from a 15 roll for fun. We drove to the spot...on the way there I had my buddy inside the car crawl into the hatch and open the bottle
He wanted the honks...
So we got going, third honk I walked away from him HARD. 15 roll is the best roll in my car it puts it right into its power band and leaves me in first gear. I started spraying at the top of first and layed into it all the way through second, let off at around 75-80...he was a few cars back. I wasnt counting. My bottle pressure was only at 850 too...if it was at 1250...oh man.
So we pull over he goes " well man I had you at first then I pushed the clutch in and you just passed me cause its an automatic it just keeps going" :rofl: So he wants to go again..from a 30 roll. Keep in mind a 30 roll is my WORST spot it puts me in 2nd gear and the trans wont downshift it feels like a god damn mini-van. So we went and he pulled half a car on me, I started getting the rpm's up and gained ground very slowly, I sprayed him soon as I got to 4000rpms and pulled away decently hard again. We went one last time from a 10 roll and about the same results as the first race.
It was a fun time for some laughs with me and a buddy of mine, the kid said it had a power commander chip :rofl:

That car moved pretty damn good when he went into 2nd gear. Id hate to run into a modded one
After I get my SS3600 in next week I'd like to go against you from a stop for fun to see how far ahead you can get before I cant read your lisense plate any more
